List of Contents
Every individual unit pulled from a banner has what are known as Individual Values (IVs). When IVs differ between units, the same hero can have different stats after reaching its max level.
There exists a basic set of stats for every hero in the game (known as base stats). IVs cause one of a hero's base stats to rise by 3~4 points and another to lower by 3~4 points.
Lv 40 Base Stats for All Units
You can check a hero's IVs via the stats screen. A stat name, such as HP or Atk, will be written in blue when it is an asset, and red when it is a flaw.
Since the color may be a bit difficult to see, you can always press the place where the stat is shown and asset
or flaw
will be displayed.
5★ heroes can have stats that are strong
or weak
(these are not present for 4★ heroes and lower).
When a unit has this strong
stat (called a superboon) as its IV, it will result in +4 points to the base value.
Likewise, when a unit has a superbane (lowered IV) in a weak
stat, the value will be 4 points lower than the base stat.
Some units will have neutral IVs - that is, they don't have any flaws or assets, or any superboons or superbanes.
Notable units that have neutral IVs are those obtained from Grand Hero Battles and Tempest Trials.
Depending on the usage and the situation, you can build either the strongest units to be used in the Arena or strong 4★ units.
SP (Skill Points) are used to acquire new Hero skills for allies. These are needed to upgrade units and make them more effective in combat.
The Double SP Weekends events are the best ways to get more SP. This period is held from Friday to Sunday, making it ideal for building units.
Double SP Weekends grant twice the normal amount of skill points when defeating an enemy or healing an ally. This means you get 3 SP for story mission battles and arena maps other than the Training Tower.
Certain Valor Skills can double the amount of SP earned through each battle, especially if they defeat enemies using a certain weapon type. These skills also stack with other SP gaining buffs, so it's possible to gain up to 12 times the skill points.
Hero Feathers are a type of item that is required to unlock potential in your units, changing their rarity to the next tier.
The fastest way to get feathers is to send extra units home.
You can also get a lot of feathers through the Arena, but you can only claim them once a week.
Alternatively, you can also farm for Hero Merit, but it requires you to spam a lot of battles.
Units with a colored heart is set as a favorite and cannot be used as fodder for Skill Inheritance. In order to use a unit for fodder, make sure they have this feature turned off on their portraits.
Alfonse, Sharena, and Anna cannot be used as fodder, as they are the main characters in the story.
Previously if your unit is defeated, they will not receive any experience points they gained during the battle.
However, in the current version of the game, even if units are defeated, they will still keep whatever experience points they gained.
In general, you should avoid sending units home!
It depends on whether or not you are doing pay-to-play and how often you pull from summons, but we generally do not recommend sending heroes home.
If you pull multiple units of the same hero, you can use them as a Source Hero for Inherit Skill, or aim to build a 4★+10 super unit. When you are running out of space in your Barracks, you can make use of the Create Combat Manual feature.
Which Heroes Should You Send Home?
Skill Type | Effects |
---|---|
Visible Buff Skills (Hone, Rally, Fortify, etc.) |
Does not overlap or stack |
Combat Buff Skills (Goad, Spur, Drive, etc.) |
Overlap or stack |
Skills that trigger during combat (such as Death Blow 4, Drive Atk 2, etc.) stack cumulatively.
This means that several units can run same instances of these skills and have it all trigger.
However, visible buffs skills (such as Rally Atk/Spd+, Odd Spd Wave 3, etc.) will not stack cumulatively and will only apply once. Priority is given to the strongest effect.
As long as they are not visible buffs, skills and Sacred Seal effects will stack.
For instance, Death Blow 4 as an A skill and Death Blow 3 as a Sacred Seal will give a unit +14 to their Atk when they attack.
If your unit's Spd is 5 more than the enemy unit's, you will make a follow-up attack.
There are some skills that enables immediate follow-up attacks without checking Spd, such as brave weapons (Brave Bow+, Dire Thunder, etc.) or Quick Riposte 3 or Desperation 3.
The red ! either on you or an enemy unit means that there is a skill or weapon that is effective against them.
Heroes with Effective Skills - Stats and Ratings
Staff damage is calculated by (unit's attack - enemy unit's Res) / 2.
However, if you give a staff unit Wrathful Staff 3, damage will be calculated normally.
Weapons like Gronnraven+
Visible buffs like Rally Atk/Spd+, Odd Spd Wave 3, etc. will contribute to the effect of weapons like Blárblade+ or Thunderhead.
Combat buffs are not applied to a blade weapon's effect, but will trigger nonetheless during combat.
Your defense team in the Arena can be made more powerful by putting a dancer.
You can also spring surprise attacks on your opponent by giving your units Wings of Mercy 3 in the event that they can't defeat one of your units in one go.
Or you can opt for a high firepower Special like Ruptured Sky or Luna.
A unit with a brave weapon like Brave Bow+, Dire Thunder also works to make an effective defense team.
Be sure to have a units built to counter the strongest ones in the meta and have your units aim to one-shot when they attack or are attacked.
How to Win 5 Battles in Arena Without Deaths
To raise your score in arena, you need to optimize and maximize unit merges, make sure they have premium skills, and using the bonus unit.
No, using multiple bonus units will not affect the amount of bonus points you get. Use only one bonus unit per season.
Dueling Swords refresh every 12 AM PST / 3 AM PST.
Dueling Swords do not recover over time and if you would like to battle more than 3 times, you can use a Dueling Crest to recover more.
If there is a unit you like, only pull for the color that they appear in.
If you would like to save on Orbs and are trying to see what kinds of units you will get, you can summon 5 times in a single session.
The Best Summons to Pull From and Release Datest
The odds increase with every summon you do, so you don't have to summon 5 times in one session to make it go up.
If a 5★ unit is summoned in a session with other colors still untouched, the probability hasn't reset yet, so you can test your luck and see if you got more than one by pulling the remaining colors.
The summoning animation is the same for 4★ and 5★ units, but different when pulling a 3★.
The best way to tell if you've pulled a 4★ or 5★ unit is to see if a smoke animation plays. 3★ units are summoned without the smoke animation.
Login bonuses are given at 12 AM PST / 3 AM EST. This is also the time new banners are made available.
You can borrow your friends' units for Rival Domains, Grand Conquests, Voting Gauntlet, and Pawns of Loki.
Also by greeting friends, you can earn Hero Feathers.
