Astra Blade Might: 16　 Range: 1 Grants Atk+3. If unit's Atk > foe's Def, deals damage = 50% of unit's Atk minus foe's Def.

Harsh Command+ Range: 1 Neutralizes target ally's penalties (from skills like Panic, Threaten, etc.) and negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, etc.) that last through ally's next action. Converts any penalties on target ally into bonuses.

Atk/Spd Bond 4 If unit is adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Spd+7 to unit and neutralizes unit's penalties to Atk/Spd during combat.

Aerobatics 3 Unit can move to a space adjacent to any infantry, armored, or cavalry unit within 2 spaces.

+Atk/-HP

The best IVs for Valentian Catria are +Atk and -HP. A +Atk IV adds to her already high Atk stat. Astra Blade's effects also rely on Valentian Catria having a high Atk stat. This justifies this IV choice even further. Additionally, her Atk is a superboon meaning, she will gain a total of +4 Atk once she hits Lv.40. Her HP is of less importance so it is safe to take it as a bane.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Sword Catria to 10. At +10 Merges, Valentian Catria's Atk will reach such high levels that pushing it up higher is a waste. At this point, it would be better to opt with a +Spd IV instead to help her take less follow-up attacks and allow her to make some follow-up attacks on her own.

How to Use, Explanation

This budget build aims to increase Catria's offensive prowess with minimal investment. The Atk/Spd Bond 3 seal works together with her native Atk/Spd Bond 4 skill to boost her offensive stats. Aerobatics ensures that she is adjacent to an ally to keep her bond skills active. Her native Spd Tactic 3 may be used, but if it won't be active due to team composition, a Spur or Drive skill is a great budget alternative.

How to Use, Explanation

This build aims to abuse Catria's raw damage output through the true damage added by Astra Blade and Heavy Blade 4. Dive Bomb allows Catria to attack twice consecutively and activate Moonbow with the aid of Heavy Blade's special cooldown acceleration. Atk/Spd Rein 3 works double duty in this build to help her win the stat check on Astra Blade and get a follow-up attack through outspeeding. Blade Session 3 provides the best attack and speed increase in the seal slot. You may replace Reposition with her native Harsh Command+ and Moonbow with Ruptured Sky if you want to maximize her score in Arena.

Valentian Catria is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Def stat.

Valentian Catria Strengths

Exploits Low Def Units

If Catria's Atk > foe's Def, Astra Blade deals additional damage calculated by half the resulting value of Catria's Atk minus foe's Def. This is a powerful effect that exploits units with low Def such as F!Julia. Because of this effect, inheriting skills like Death Blow 4 onto Sword Catria will significantly increase her damage on low Def foes.

Atk/Spd Bond Increases Offensive Power

Atk/Spd Bond 4 increases Valentian Catria's Atk and Spd by +7 and neutralizes penalties in those stats if she is adjacent to an ally. Since it is an in-combat buff, it stacks with other combat buffs, so it is good to pair with units that have skills like Atk Tactic or Spur Def.

Turn Debuffs into Bonuses

Harsh Command+ is a very powerful assist skill that not only neutralizes penalties on an ally, but it also converts them into bonuses. This skill is a tide turner in battles and especially useful in Aether Raids, where debuffs are coming not only from enemy heroes, but defensive structures as well.
