+Res / -Spd

The best IVs for New Year Heiðrún are +Res and -Spd. Since New Year Heiðrún is an offensive unit unlike base Heiðrún, boosting her damage output is essential. Heiðrún's Res determines the amount of stat bonuses and bonus true damage that New Year Treats provides, making it a good choice for a boon. +Atk is also a good boon to have.

Due to New Year Heiðrún's low Spd stat, damage output is prioritized to deal as much damage as possible with New Year Heiðrún's lone attack.

Spd can be safely taken as a bane as it won't change any of her matchups.

+Res for a +10 merge

We recommend a +Res IV when merging New Year Heiðrún up to +10 to maximize both damage and magical bulk.

New Year Heiðrún's exclusive weapon New Year Treats grants Atk/Res+6, Special cooldown count -1, and 【Charge】 to Heiðrún and an ally with the【Divine Nectar】effect active once that ally uses a Rally or movement Assist skill.

In combat, New Year Treats grants New Year Heiðrún bonus Atk/Def/Res equal to 5 + 20% of her Res and bonus true damage equal to 20% of her Res (both including when attacking with an area-of-effect Special), offensive Tempo, and 50% damage reduction piercing.

The in-combat effects being granted when attacking with an area-of-effect Special can be invaluable, as New Year Heiðrún can easily pre-charge area-of-effect Specials with both New Year Treats and Nectar's Magic. New Year Heiðrún is also an infantry unit, allowing allies to use skills like Infantry Pulse 4 to further accelerate her Specials.

Nectar's Magic applies 【Divine Nectar】 and grants Special jumping

New Year Heiðrún comes with Nectar's Magic instead of Divine Nectar from her base alt. The two skills are very similar, with the only difference being the in-combat effects.

Nectar's Magic grants the 【Divine Nectar】 status to New Year Heiðrún and her nearby allies at the start of both player and enemy phase. Then, if an ally with the 【Divine Nectar】 status uses a Rally or movement Assist skill, Nectar's Magic grants them an additional action.

The 【Divine Nectar】 status restores 20 HP to the affected unit as combat begins, keeping their HP high. This healing effect takes place after pre-combat damage effects from skills like Flared Sparrow and Occultist's Strike, making it a counter to these skills.

The 【Divine Nectar】 status also reduces damage from foe's attacks by 10 on the affected unit's first combat initiated by unit and the first combat initiated by foe during that turn. This helps keep the affected units alive, working well with the healing effect to ensure survival.

If New Year Heiðrún initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, Nectar's Magic grants her Atk/Def/Res+5 during combat and receives Special cooldown count -1 dependent on her Special skill:

  • Special cooldown count -1 before Special triggers if New Year Heiðrún has an area-of-effect Special equipped
  • Special cooldown count -1 before New Year Heiðrún's first attack if New Year Heiðrún has an offensive Special equipped

Heiðrún's base alt has been terrorizing Astra/Anima seasons on Aether Raids due to Divine Nectar, and we expect New Year Heiðrún to continue this trend but on all seasons instead.

Duo Skill grants Special acceleration and applies 【Divine Vein (Green)】

New Year Heiðrún's Duo Skill grants Special cooldown count-1 to Heiðrún and allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on Heiðrún, and also applies 【Divine Vein (Green)】 on spaces within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on Heiðrún for 2 turns.

The Special cooldown reduction being applied to a large area makes it a very flexible Duo Skill, and the 【Divine Vein (Green)】 terrain can overwrite important terrain effects such as 【Divine Vein (Flame)】 and 【Divine Vein (Stone)】 that can impact combat conditions.

New Year Heiðrún Weaknesses

Low Spd and Bulk

New Year Heiðrún's base Spd of 16 will leave her vulnerable to follow-up attacks from her foes.

With no way to deny follow-up attacks and no way to mitigate incoming damage, New Year Heiðrún will be easily defeated if a foe can reach her before New Year Heiðrún can defeat them.

We revised that sentence as it was confusing indeed. Thanks for bringing it up. We intended to point out that New Year Heiðrún comes with a different exclusive skill from her base alt, while her sisters all came with similar exclusive skills from their base alts (Divine Toxin for the Níðhöggrs, Divine Fang for the Hræsvelgrs, etc.)

"Unlike her sisters on her debut banner, New Year Heiðrún comes with Nectar's Magic instead of Divine Nectar." I don't understand this comment. Heidrun is the only hero to have divine nectar, but this suggests her "sisters" (plural) had it from her debut banner. None of her sisters have or had this skill.
