How to Complete | |
---|---|
1 | Dampe is looking for inspiration again and he wants to see a "creature that swallows things whole with its massive jaws", and "the tool of a guy who spreads acorns". |
2 | The creature that swallows things whole with its massive jaws describes the Deku Baba Lv. 2 echo. Summon this on the pedestal right next to Dampe if you have it. |
3 | For the acorn guy, mend the Stilled Northern Sanctuary rift just north of Hyrule Castle Town and talk to the guy just outside the church building. |
4 | Select the "I need a clamp" option and he'll tell you about his friend who lives in a wasteland way out west in Hyrule Field who has a clamp. |
5 | Head out far west in Hyrule Field and find the other Acorn Guy who has a clamp. He can be found just to the left of the waypoint in the area. |
6 | The Acorn Guy will give you the clamp if you manage to beat his acorn gathering challenge under 40 seconds. Beat the challenge and he'll give you the steel trap. ▶︎ Acorn Gathering Minigame Guide |
7 | After obtaining both the echo and the steel trap, head back to Dampe's house and talk to him. Select the "I want an automaton" and choose to make the "Endless stomach!". You can then give him the steel trap to make the High-Teku Baba automaton. |

When I tried using a level 1 Deku Baba in this quest, it didn't work. I got a dialogue that basically said it was close, but the smaller version doesn't swallow its prey whole. It turned out he was looking for the higher level Deku Baba found in Faron Woods.
