Search Dragonbone City and Find the Entrance to the Nether Realm
Head inside the door and down the corridor to another doorway.
Speak with the Styxian Spirit of the Dead
Go through the door at the end of the corridor and talk to the spirit on the other side.
Use Oronyx's Miracle to Cross the River of Souls
Pick up the Rune of Recollection from the rune base at the bottom of the stairs. This will allow you to walk forward past the steps.
Turn Right at the Broken Wooden Bridge
Carrying the rune, turn right at the broken wooden bridge with stacks of boxes on it. The rune will allow you to cross this bridge safely.
Speak with the Spirit of the Centurion
Put back the rune on the rune base in order to approach the spirits of the centurion and talk to them.
Check the Souls Remains
After talking with the centurion, a souls remains will be left behind. Interact with it to continue.
Continue Exploring Dragonbone City and Head Higher
Once the cutscene is complete, turn left and down the wooden pathway. Follow it until you come across some enemies.
Summon Rune to Get Across
After defeating the enemies, use the nearby rune base to Summon a Rune of Recollection and get across to the other building.
Ascend Using the Platform Lift
Ascend the lift that becomes unblocked with the help of the rune.
Put Back the Rune Outside the Door
At the top of the lift is a doorway that becomes blocked by the Rune of Recollection. Put back the rune onto the nearby rune base to proceed.
Speak with the Spirit of the Court Scholar
Go through the door and head up the lift at the end of the short corridor.
Speak with the Scholar on the Stairs
Follow the path from the lift until you come up some stone stairs, where the scholar is waiting for you to speak with.
Enter the Royal Vault
Enter the doors at the top of the stone stairs from where the scholar was. Go through the second door to proceed with the quest.
Seek a Pathway to Higher Ground
Go down the stairs to your right and perform Oronyx's miracle with the bookstand at the bottom.
Ascend Using the Platform Lift
Use the platform lift at the end of the cleared hallway to continue.
Remove Oronyx's Miracle
At the top of the lift, there will be another bookstand. Interact with it to remove Oronyx's miracle.
Pick up the Rune to Cross the Bridge
Go pick up the rune ahead of the path to cross the bridge from where the rune base is.
Talk to the Vault Officer
At the end of the bridge, leave the rune at the rune base and talk to the spirit of the vault officer.
Check the Souls Remains
Check the souls remains that the vault officer will leave behind.
Speak with the Spirit of the Alchemist
Head through the nearest door and up a short set of stairs to the left.
Go up the Platform Lift to the Alchemist
Use the platform lift to head up and the spirit of the alchemist will be waiting by some shelves.
Defeat the Enemies that Arrive
While talking to the alchemist, several enemies will appear by the stairs that you have to defeat.
Seek a Path to Higher Ground
Head up the spiral staircase and enter the Hidden Passage at the top to continue.
Proceed Upward with the Chains of the Past
After the cutscene, pick up the nearby rune and make your way up the bridge illuminated by the rune.
Head Inside the Room and Talk to Trianne
At the end of the pathway will be a door. Leave the rune on the rune base before going through the door, where you will find the spirit of Trianne.
Borrow the Philosopher's Stone and Complete the Alchemical Ritual
Investigate the markings on the floor to trigger the next cutscene.
Defeat Pollux: Netherwing Husk
After the cutscene, you will need to fight and defeat the boss enemy Pollux: Netherwing Husk, Ferry of Souls. Note that this enemy can apply Atrophy DMG, which cannot be offset by Shields or distributed.
The best allies to use in this battle are DPS such as Castorice, Mydei, or Blade, who also match Pollux's weakness of Wind, Quantum, and Imaginary!
Consume Ally HP to Accumulate Desperate Bubble
During the battle, Pollux will receive reduced damage until it enters an enhanced state, during which it becomes vulnerable to attack. It accumulates Desperate Bubble that charges its enhanced state whenever your allies lose HP.
