The Herta, Herta, Sparkle, and Luocha are all Day 2 Trial Characters.
For this Team, The Herta will be your main DPS while Herta is your Sub-DPS. Sparkle is the recommended support here as she's a Trial character and can provide your team with the necessary SP during the build-up phase.
For sustain, you can use Luocha as he's SP positive and can help during the build-up phase using his Ultimate against the Spirithief Bartholos.
| Character | Merits |
|---|---|
Argenti
|
DPS Replacement You can opt to replace The Herta with Argenti instead as his kit is easier to use during the build-up phase. |
Jade
|
Sub-DPS Replacement You can use Jade instead of Herta as her constant FUA can help The Herta fill up her Ultimate but you might find ranking up during the build-up phase harder with Jade. |
Robin
|
Support Replacement Provides party-wide DMG boost and can advance forward your entire party. |
Tingyun
|
Support Replacement Tingyun is recommended if you're running with Argenti as she'll provide him with Energy. |
Huohuo
|
Sustain Replacement Huohuo can provide energy regen and can dispell debuffs. |
Lingsha
|
Sustain Replacement Lingsha's can help during the build-up phase as her skill can hit every enemy. She also has FUA that can help fill The Herta's Ultimate. |
Aventurine
|
Sustain Replacement Good sustain and provides Effect RES that can help during the Kafka fight. |

This team is from Day 2's available Trial Characters.
For the F2P players, there will be no difference between the best team as the Trial Characters are good enough to reach 40+ rank and clear the fight with more than 2 cycles left.

Only Basic Attacks can switch the modes for the Spirithief Bartholos and attacks such as Follow-up Attacks, Ultimates, and Skills will not trigger it to change.
There is an exception where defeating a Gnaw Sting that spawns will change the mode of all the Spirithief Bartholos. Note that the Spirithief Bartholos will always resolve first before the Gnaw Sting explodes.

As much as possible, try to make sure that all Spirithief Bartholos are on the same mode before using a Skill or Ultimate. Always clear out the larger number of Spirithief of the same modes first. if there are different modes on the field.
If there's an equal amount of Spirithief Bartholos that are either in Skill and Ultimate mode, it's better that you can use your Skill first then either do an Ultimate or Skill to clear them out depending on the next wave.

Try to only use your Ultimates when you're running out of SP, especially if Sparkle doesn't have enough energy to use her Ultimate to refill your missing SP. Consider using your Ultimate only when you have 2 SP or less left.

It's recommended that you reach a Rank of 40 or more to easily clear Day 2's challenge and have an SS-Rank. It's also possible to clear this at Rank 30 but can be difficult depending on your team.
