The argument was that DHIL would no longer be in meta because of a new version overpowering the old one and me bringing Hu Tao in is to show that’s not true as she was the strongest for almost 3 years and is still uses a lot today and one of the strongest.

moc format might even change at that point too. thus favoring the newer dps more. like i said dhil should still be strong dps in next planet. but after that he might not even be in top 3 dps anymore.

fyi im not saying hu tao is absolutely powercrept till she becomes useless. my point is now there are better options. this might be the same case with dhil in the future as well. strong but there are someone better at that point already.

>>413 hu tao is not the 4th most used dps. unless youre assuming dps=must be pure onfielder. in hsr there is no on or off field dmg dealer. nahida, furina, xl, yae miko, kuki(assuming hyperbloom dps), raiden, navia are all placed higher than her. they are also dps. thing is most of them can deal dmg off field. hu tao team is at the 7th place btw. there are more pyro options already.

I wouldn’t immediately say JL or DHIL or most old units be immediately powercreept in upcoming version especially since there getting new supports/content tailor made for them. DHIL with Sparkle allows him to get an easy 0 cycle even if MoC not right for him. JL with bronya and Ruan Mei is an insane duo and a lot of of enemies and weakness/mechanics seemingly made for her. Then there’s Argenti with highest AoE and getting pure fiction.

Hu Tao, Childe and raiden are all in the top ten teams with raiden and Hu Tao being in 4th and 6th most used teams and both are pretty old units. In usage itself it’s like I said Hu Tao is 4th used currently with navia, alhaitham and Neuv being more used but it took her 3 years to fully powercreep and she is still strong in abyss till this day

Btw they don’t just sell because of strength, that plays a part yes but there hasn’t been a single bad character in game so as long as they are good enough and have won fans over by story, design, personality and dynamic they’ll be good.

its gonna take a while to fully powercreep him. dhil might still be meta during his upcoming rerun in penacony but most likely not anymore after that. hoyo needs to sell new units as well. if people dont wanna move on from 1.x units hoyo has no choice but to create stronger newer dps.

Hoyo is balancing other dps and letting them shine without powercreep JL or DHIL so still remain the best due to better supports and having high dmg in both ST and AoE. For example Argenti has highest AoE in game and is going to be the king of PF but has horrible ST performance. Dr.ratio has highest ST dmg but horrible AoE performance as well. Jingliu and DHIL are extremely good in both scenarios which gives them the edge especially since you need two teams.

>>399 yup, Dr.ratio has higher ST dmg (makes sense cause he has no form of aoe) then both Jingliu and DHIL. He’s getting a new Relic set and 4 star abundance who can apply debuffs so it’s easier to run him with a harmony or other FU dps (Topaz or leaked Screwllum) and isn’t tied to SW.
