I’m taking about dps lmao, DHIL is a dps and so is Hu Tao, off fielders are kinda irrelevant here because they are not the main dps and therefore are more feature proof like blade is compared to DHIL and JL
sure some of them are not just dps, some of them dps while buffing but does not change the fact they deal dmg.
Also did you check the usage? Cause I’m pretty sure Hu Tao team should be in 6th in team usage and raiden in 4th. Usage wise, she is the 4th most used. Not only are the characters you claim are higher (even though all their teams are them as sub dps) old units but they are not even better than Hu Tao vape.
they are lol. dps deal dmg onfield AND off field. just because they deal dmg off field, you are saying they are not dps? national main dmg dealer is literally xl lol
all those you mentioned aren’t even dps, their team usage shows all of them acting as sub dps and support in higher placement teams. You do know raiden is one of the older characters right? You just proved my point lol.
I’m honestly so confused because your straying of the point of topic. One fielder and non off fielder has nothing to do with what I’m saying. The argument was that DHIL would no longer be in meta because of a new version overpowering the old one and me bringing Hu Tao in is to show that’s not true as she was the strongest for almost 3 years and is still uses a lot today and one of the strongest.
moc format might even change at that point too. thus favoring the newer dps more. like i said dhil should still be strong dps in next planet. but after that he might not even be in top 3 dps anymore.
fyi im not saying hu tao is absolutely powercrept till she becomes useless. my point is now there are better options. this might be the same case with dhil in the future as well. strong but there are someone better at that point already.
hu tao is not the 4th most used dps. unless youre assuming dps=must be pure onfielder. in hsr there is no on or off field dmg dealer. nahida, furina, xl, yae miko, kuki(assuming hyperbloom dps), raiden, navia are all placed higher than her. they are also dps. thing is most of them can deal dmg off field. hu tao team is at the 7th place btw. there are more pyro options already.
the difference is xl is meta ss damage dealer even now or are you purposely being obtuse lol
I wouldn’t immediately say JL or DHIL or most old units be immediately powercreept in upcoming version especially since there getting new supports/content tailor made for them. DHIL with Sparkle allows him to get an easy 0 cycle even if MoC not right for him. JL with bronya and Ruan Mei is an insane duo and a lot of of enemies and weakness/mechanics seemingly made for her. Then there’s Argenti with highest AoE and getting pure fiction.
Hu Tao, Childe and raiden are all in the top ten teams with raiden and Hu Tao being in 4th and 6th most used teams and both are pretty old units. In usage itself it’s like I said Hu Tao is 4th used currently with navia, alhaitham and Neuv being more used but it took her 3 years to fully powercreep and she is still strong in abyss till this day
lmao that’s like saying when people pick a wind dps for MoC they choose Dan heng over blade cause he is free and blade is just played if you like him. Your making zero sense, if a character is stronger they will be the better option no matter if you like them or not.
check abyss usage my friend she still used a lot, 3rd most used in 4.2 and 4th most used currently. Also people do not go for xiangling when choosing a pyro dps I don’t even know where you go that from lmao, if your wondering why she’s being used more it’s because she functions as a sub-dps in a lot of teams like raiden and yelan. My point still stands that a character can be meta no matter how old. It took 3 years for her to be powercrept and she is still kicking the abyss today.

whenever abyss wants you to use pyro most of players would go for xl instead of hu tao because xl was given for free. hu tao is just another dps you play if you like her.
Btw they don’t just sell because of strength, that plays a part yes but there hasn’t been a single bad character in game so as long as they are good enough and have won fans over by story, design, personality and dynamic they’ll be good.
