Origin of the Medicine is the first part of Natasha's Companion Mission. This mission will have us investigate the medicine Dr. Vache, Natasha's brother, has created.
After you complete all of her Companion Missions, Natasha will appear on the Astral Express to visit!

Oleg will message players once they return to Boulder Town after completing the Trial of the Equilibrium: Part 1. Respond to his message to get Natasha's companion quest, Origin of the Medicine
| Quest Walkthrough | |

| 1 | To begin, head to Natasha's Clinic in Boulder Town and speak to Natasha. |
| 2 | Talk to first patient who skipped treatment. They can be found standing in front of the Fight Club building. |
| 3 | After convincing the first patient, visit the second patient who skipped their follow-up visit. They can be found on the road from the Fight Club to the Goethe Grand Hotel. |
| 4 | After convincing the second patient, visit the third patient who skipped their follow-up visit. They can be found at the foot of the stairs that lead up to the Boulder Town Food Stall. |
| 5 | Convince him that you do not approve of Natasha. Tell him you want Dr. Vache's miracle cure and he will tell you the location of the society that sells it. |
| 6 | Now you have the option either tell Natasha about the wonder medicine or investigate it by yourself. ・Tell Natasha... (Go to Step 8) ・Investigate the Medicine (Go to Step 7) |
| 7 | If you decided to investigate the wonder medicine, make your way to Rivet Town. Despite acting like a buyer, the Vargrants will identify you as a threat and turn you away. |
| 8 | Return to Natasha and tell her about the wonder medicine. |
| 9 | She will ask you to speak to 3 patients affected by the wonder medicine. Go to each one (marked in your map) to find out more about the medicine. |
| 10 | Go back to Natasha and speak to her. After the conversation ends, go to Rivet Town and confront the medicine peddlers. |
| 11 | Defeat the 2 Vagrants and 2 Automaton Beetles guarding the wonder medicine. When the dust of battle settles, watch Natasha chase out the medicine peddlers. |
| 12 | With the suppliers stopped, head back to Natasha's clinic. Watch the cutscene that plays out. |
| 13 | Speak to Natasha to complete Origin of the Medicine. |
The only difference between telling Natasha first and investigating by yourself is that you add a step if you decide not to tell Natasha first. Telling Natasha about the wonder medicine first will progress the quest faster since you get to skip the step that has you go to Rivet Town to investigate.
