How to Unlock Guide Paradox

Respond to Arlan's Message About the Elderly

To unlock Guide Paradox, players will need to answer Arlan's message where he asks for your assistance regarding the elderly researchers aboard the Herta Space Station.

Apparently, the older researchers have taken a liking to you over the station's Security Department and have decided to request your aid.

	Quest Walkthrough
1	Search for Esther in the Master Control Zone. She's located northeast of the Central Passage space anchor. After finishing the conversation, she will ask you to find the 3 missing videotapes.
2	Teleport to the Spare Parts Warehouse in the Supply Zone. The 3 videotapes can easily be found by following the Mission Navigator.
3	After collecting all 3 videotapes, you will automatically be teleported to the Base Zone along with the NPC Joanne. Follow Joanne until you encounter Sheila.
4	After you finish asking Sheila some questions, teleport to the Electrical Room space anchor in the Supply Zone to find the security monitor related to Sheila.
5	Look for the security monitor. It is located in the right side of the room. Note: There is an enemy inside the room, but fighting it is optional.
6	Head back to the Supply Zone by teleporting to the Reception Center space anchor. Follow the Mission Navigator to find Sheila.
7	After a long conversation, you will find out that Sheila is an android. Gunn will place the fate of Sheila in your hands. Decide what to tell Sheila to complete this leg of the mission: ▶ How Should You Deal With Sheila?
8	Go back to Esther to return back the videotapes. The mission will conclude once the conversation is finished.

Before the quest reaches its ending, Gunn will ask you how to deal with Protoype 157, also known as Sheila. You can choose one of the above answers to decide Sheila's fate.

Please Tell Sheila the Truth

Joanne: Her cognitive module was burned due to information overload... It seems that telling her the truth was a bad decision.

Telling Sheila the truth about her existence will have her undergo an existential crisis. This results in an information overload that leaves her cognitive module burned. Joanne will then remark that this is possibly the worst outcome possible.

Please “Fix” Sheila's Cognition

Sheila will have her memories of the past fully wiped. This serves as a complete restart to her life. Joanne remarks that this is the best outcome.

Please Destroy Sheila

Gunn: I promise you this. When I leave, I will choose a quiet time to bring Prototype 157 (Sheila) with me to the disposal site and destroy her there.

Gunn promises to destroy Sheila despite the fact that this is against his wish, but later admits that this is a safe choice to make. Speak to Joanne after Gunn departs from the medical wing to reflect on your decision.

After clearing the Guide Paradox mission, you can encounter and interact with Sheila near Herta's Office regardless of what option you chose.

Interacting with Sheila again unlocks the Does She Walk Alone? Achievement which rewards 5 Stellar Jades.
