Unlock Node in Military Attribute Tree

Civ 7 - War Support Node

One of the two intial nodes of the Militaristic Attribute Tree grants player an automatic +1 War Support. Combining this node alongside other ways to increase War Support will guarantee that your population will retain their happiness and combat strength during a war.

Spend Influence on War Support

Civ 7 - War Support

The War menu allows players to spend 180 Influence to increase their War Support. Buying War Support as well will cause War Weariness on the opposite side.

When you have a surplus on Influence, consider spending a little bit of it on War Support to avoid making your citizens unhappy during a war.

Build Gate of All Nations

Gate of All Nations

Building the Wonder, Gate of All Nations will grant the player +2 War Support and will carry over to future Ages as well.

To unlock the Gate of All Nations, players will need to unlock the Discipline Mastery Civic or the Persia Satrapies from the Persia civilization's Unique Civics.

Players playing a MIlitaristic Leader that benefit on starting wars with other Leaders wouild want to build this Wonder to counter their penalties automatically.

War Support is a newly implemented mechanic in Civilization VII and counter to War Weariness that allows players to combat the unhappiness of the population, denoted by a positive number when viewing the Leader menu.

Building the Gate of All Nations and spending Influence to gain War Support are some ways to increase it to prevent any debuffs during war.

What is War Weariness?

Civ 7 - War Support and War Weariness
War Weariness is what happens when your population's unhappiness rises during a prolonged war with other Leaders, denoted by a negative number when viewing the Leader menu.

Wars not elevated with War Support will risk damaging the happiness and combat strength of your Army.

War Weariness can also stack based on how many Leaders you are currently engaged with in a war.
