Civilization VII (Civ 7)'s Roadmap previews upcoming DLCs with new leaders, civs, and natural wonders. Read on to learn the future content planned for Civilization VII (Civ 7)'s first six months after its release.

The new roadmap released on February 27, 2025 highlights the features, mechanic adjustments, and overall game improvements to be implemented on the following months through free updates.
| Confirmed Updates for Patch 1.1.0 |
|---|
| ・New Natural Wonder to discover: Bermuda Triangle ・Additional UI adjustments, polish, and addressing of reported issues ・Significant changes to the Modern Age's Cultural Legacy Path and Victory; AI leaders will also be better at completing a Cultural Victory ・Now able to convert Holy Cities in the Exploration Age. Note that when players create their own Missionary Units, they will always follow the player’s chosen Religion ・Naval Units will be able to disperse Coastal Independent Powers ・Balance pass on several Mementos ・Refinements to the Army Unpacking action ・Addressing reported issues with multiplayer and adding friends with a 2K Account ・For console players: all prior updates from Update 1.0.1 Patches 1, 2, and 3 will be implemented, in addition to the items noted above |
Update 1.1.0 is expected to drop on March 4, 2025 to implement several adjustments to the game mechanics, the new Bermuda Triangle Natural Wonder, and more!
Additionally, players who have the Deluxe or Founders Edition or bought the Crossroads of the World Collection separately will be able to access the first half of the DLC after the update. This includes the new Leader, Ada Lovelace, and two new Civs, Great Britain and Carthage.
| Confirmed Updates for Patch 1.1.1 |
|---|
| ・Additional UI improvements and refinements ・Scouting and Settling improvements for AI, including less aggressive “forward” settling by AI ・Adding Quick Move functionality ・Adding the ability to customize the names of Commanders and Cities ・Renaming the existing maps to be "Start Position: Balanced," which will be the default Start Position setting for multiplayer games ・Adding a new Start Position of "Standard," where the landforms on maps are less predictable, closer to how map generation works in Civ VI ・Adding an optional Restart button that rerolls the player’s map generation now that these less predictable start positions are possible ・New Natural Wonder: Mount Everest |
On March 25, 2025, another update will be released that includes mostly improvements to gameplay. The most notable adjustment to expect in this update is the AI Leaders will no longer travel halfway across the map to settle very close to your borders and be mad about it.
The update will also unlock the second half of the Crossroads of the World Collection for the expansion owners to add Simon Bolivar in the Leaders roster along with Bulgaria and Nepal.
| Items to Be Added in Future Updates |
|---|
| ・Ongoing UI improvements ・Adding a “One More Turn” button that will let you continue playing past the end of the Modern Age ・Implementing Auto-Explore ・New map sizes (all platforms except Nintendo Switch) ・New Resource types and adjustments to map resource allocation ・Teams support in multiplayer ・Hot Seat local multiplayer ・Research Queuing ・Mod tools and Steam Workshop support ・Additional game setup customization options |

The developers have released a timeline for additional content for Civilization VII's post-release. It covers potential updates and content until September 2025.
There will be regular updates to the game's mechanics as well as new natural wonders and challenges.
In a Dev diary post, the developers teased some of the priority updates to the game: like 8-player multiplayer, more map types, and allowing you to choose the game's starting and ending Age.
They also plan to release month-long events that every player can participate in, just like in Civilization VI (Civ 6) at 2024.
The first Collection, Crossroads of the World, will be released throughout March.
| Crossroads of the World Release Schedule | |
|---|---|
| Early March | • Leader: Ada Lovelace • Civs: Carthage and Great Britain • 4 New Natural Wonders |
| Late March | • Leader: Simón Bolívar • Civs: Bulgaria and Nepal |
The Civilization VII (Civ 7) roadmap has shown 2 DLCs so far. These additional in-game contents are called Collections.
The second Collection, Right to Rule, will be published sometime between April to September 2025. It will contain: 2 leaders, 4 civilizations, and 4 world wonders.
