An average Standard match in Civilization VII (Civ 7) could take around 10 hours. Here's a guide on how long a game could take in varying levels of experience and how long to 100% the game!

A Standard Game Could Take Around 10 Hours

Experienced Civ Players (Civ 1-6) 12-15 hours
Newer Players 15-20 hours
Experienced Civ 7 Players ~10 hours

Devs have estimated that an Age in Civ 7 is expected to span 150 to 200 turns on Standard speed and can last 3 to 4 hours. As a match continues and each turn gets packed, strategizing and planning could take progressively longer, increasing the average game length to at least 10 hours.

Game experience is also a prime factor in how long a Standard match can go. With the gameplay changes and new features added, even experienced Civ players might need more time to adjust to the mechanics, especially in their first few games.

At Least 1000 Hours for 100% Completion

Civ 7 Foundation Path

If you're a completionist who is determined to max out the Foundation Path and all Leader Paths, be prepared to sink at least 1000 hours into Civ 7 as the Challenges system could take multiple runs on each Leader.

Assuming you can finish a match in around 10 hours and you'll need to get all 4 types of Victories on each leader, reaching Level 10 on all Leader Paths will take more or less 1040 hours.
