Ageless Buildings in Civilization VII (Civ 7) are buildings that can be built in a specific age and whose effects persist throughout the ages. Read on to learn what are Ageless Buildings and how they differ from Persistent Buildings.

Buildings That Retain Their Effects Regardless of Age

Granary Ageless Building

Unlike standard buildings, which may become obsolete or get replaced by better buildings, Ageless Buildings are permanent structures whose effects remain active as your civilization progresses through different ages. This makes Ageless Buildings long term investments that remain useful all throughout the game regardless of the age you're in.

Cannot Be Overbuilt

Like Persistent Buildings, Ageless Buildings can't be overbuilt. Once it's been placed on a tile, you can't replace them with another building. Because of this, it's best to plan your city layout around Ageless Buildings instead of the other way around.

Can Only Be Built Within A Specific Age

Unlike Persistent Buildings, Ageless Buildings can only be built within a specific age. If the age an Ageless Building needs to be built in has already passed, you can't build them anymore in future ages. We recommend prioritizing the construction Ageless Buildings before they become unavailable.

Ageless Buildings vs Persistent Buildings

Only Difference Is the Time When They Can Be Built

Ageless Buildings and Persistent Buildings have two things in common. First, both of these buildings' effects persist all throughout the ages. Second, both of them can't be overbuilt like standard buildings. The only difference these two buildings have is the time when they can be built.

Ageless Buildings are bound to an age. Meaning, if you weren't able to build it within its designated age, you can't build it anymore in future ages. On the other hand, Persistent Buildings can be built even in future ages.
