This Civilization VII (Civ 7) guide will teach you the best strategies to secure a Score Victory in the Modern Age. Learn how to get a Score Victory, as well as some tips for getting as many Legacy Path points as possible!
List of Contents

A Score Victory is when you win the game by having the most Legacy Path points once the Modern Age Progress meter has reached 100%. It isn't listed as a Victory type in the Age Progress screen and can only be achieved if no other Victory condition is met.
Since this Victory Condition can only be achieved when no other Victory type is completed, winning by Score can only be done in the Modern Age. Because of this, you'll still want to play towards the other Legacy Paths in the Antiquity and Expidition Ages.

When you're aiming for a Score Victory, you'll want to play towards completing every Legacy Path to maximize the points you get in the Modern Age. Don't forget to do this in the previous Ages as well since it will give you more points to spend when transitioning Ages.

Since you're aiming to win via Score, you'll want to use a generally powerful Leader and Civilization combination instead of ones that play towards a single Victory Condition.
If you want to use combinations that better play to one Legacy Path, use it as a baseline and adapt your game plan so that you can also cover the other Legacy Path goals as well.
Best Leaders and Civilizations Tier Lists

The best way to maximize the amount of Legacy Path points you get is to have a strong base empire that is balanced in Science, Culture, Economy, and Military.
For example, instead of focusing on a strong army for the Military Legacy Path, you can work on Science and Economy first so that you can purchase an upgraded army and bring up your military to match the rest of your empire.

Unless you want to do a primarily militaristic strategy, you should aim to be friendly with all other Civilizations. This way, you can focus on building up your empire rather than having to deviate and fight unnecessary wars.
Do note that for the Military Legacy Paths, you will need to go to war with someone. For this, just attack whoever everyone likes the least to maintain friendly relations with the rest.

Each City-State gives unique bonuses when you become their Suzerain, and can greatly help you when aiming for a Score Victory. Explore the world as fast as you can so that you can get these bonuses before your opponents can.
Even if you don't need Suzerain bonuses, it's still useful to deny it from your opponents and prevent them from gaining an edge over you.

Although you would want to maintain positive relations with your rivals, you will need to go to war with them to stop any progress towards a Victory type in the Modern Age. Make sure to constantly check the Age Progress Rankings so you can monitor and stop any opponent from getting close to winning the game.
Just remember to focus on attacking their key Cities so that you cripple their empire and stall their progress as much as possible.
