Get Treasure Resources from distant lands and use them to earn Treasure Fleet Points in Civilization VII (Civ 7). Learn more about Treasure Resources and how to use them to gain points here.
List of Contents

Treasure Resources can only be accessed by crossing open oceans. One way to allow all units to cross is by researching Cartography. After unlocking this technology, settlers will be able to travel across open waters and reach distant lands.

After completing Cartography research, you can send settlers to foreign lands. It's best to send a scout first to find shorter routes, as rough seas will damage units by -15 per tile. Once you've secured a safe path, send your settlers to expand and claim the Treasure Resources.
When to Build More Settlements

While traveling to the distant lands, take the time to research Astronomy. This grants access to Heraldry or Feudalism, one of which you'll need later to unlock Treasure Fleets.

There are only three resources counted as Treasure Fleets: spices, sugar, and tea. You'll immediately know you're in a distant land once these appear on the map.
Find at least five of these and build settlements around them if you want to progress the Economic Legacy Path.

Shipbuilding is the final technology required to unlock Treasure Fleets. By this point, you should already have Treasure Resources, but they will only appear in the Resources Screen after gaining access to Treasure Fleets.
Once completed, build a Fishing Quay afterward to start spawning Treasure Fleets.

Unlike Factory Resources, where you can choose what to produce, Treasure Resources are automatically assigned to each Treasure Fleet.
Deliver these to your capital to gain Treasure Fleet Points. While the game states that they must be delivered to your capital, you can unload them at any tile within your mainland territory to earn points and progress the Economic Legacy Path.
