Snomaul can be encountered just after entering Hebra Mountain.
The first Snomaul you can find is at the "entrance" of Hebra Mountain. Warp to the very first waypoint you unlock at Hebra Mountain (northwest corner) and you will immediately find a Snomaul down the path.
How to Beat Snomaul
Use Fire Echoes
As a Snomaul is made of snow, you can defeat this monster and obtain its echo by using fire attacks. An echo you can get early like an Ignizol would work, but a tankier echo like a Fire Wizzrobe would work better.

This Echo costs 3 ▼ to summon.
After Tri reaches Level 8, this echo, along with a few others, will have its cost reduced to 2, allowing you to summon it with one less Triangle.
