You can find a Tektite by roaming around the waters of Zora Rivers, which is located just northeast of Seesyde Village.
You will see Tektites hopping around in the waters of Zora Rivers, so it is recommended that you summon Octorok Echoes so that they can attack in areas surrounded by water.

To begin building Automatons, you must complete Dampe's Side Quest, Automaton Engineer Dampe, and present two Echoes you possess.
He will request two specific Echoes: one described as a creature with the big eye, the sort that's always jumping around, referring to Tektite, and another that shoots hot smoke out of its backside to blast forward, referring to Mothula.
