All Damage Types and Mitigations

Damage Type Effect
Skull and Bones - Explosive DMG IconExplosive Causes an area to explode, damaging surrounding targets.
Skull and Bones - Piercing DMG IconPiercing Increased damage to weakpoints of a ship.
Skull and Bones - Fire DMG IconFire Deals burning damage onto an enemy ship.
Skull and Bones - Tearing DMG IconTearing Provides more damage when firing on the sails of a ship.
Skull and Bones - Flooding IconFlooding Deals more damage when a ship is flooded.
Skull and Bones - Base DMG IconBasic Damage Overall base damage and raw firepower of a weapon.

Some Ship Weapons such as cannons and auxiliary are equipped with a certain damage type. These damage types can provide additional elemental/area-of-effect damage on enemy ships.

What is Damage Mitigation?

Ability to Resist Specific Damage Type

Damage Mitigation is your ship's ability to resist different damage types. Attaching Ship Armors will help you negate these ailments.

If a Ship Armor has a higher damage mitigation percentage in a specific damage type, then your ship will have more chances of being able to withstand that type of attack!
