Skull and Bones - How to Get The Saw
You can get the Saw by crafting it during the Tools of the Trade contract in Skull and Bones. Learn how to get the Saw, how to use the Saw, and how to upgrade the Saw in this guide!

Craft During Tools of the Trade Contract

The first Saw is unlocked as part of the tutorial, during the Tools of the Trade main contract. In this Contract, you will be required to craft a Saw I to progress.

Get the materials and silver needed (you likely already acquired these from the prologue). Go to the Carpenter, select Craft New Items, then select the Saw I and craft it.

How to Use the Saw

Harvest Wood from Gathering Spots

Skull and Bones - Harvest Wood

To use the saw, travel to a wood resource node; you should be able to find those using the Map. Maneuver close to the gathering spot until you see the Harvest prompt.

Then, play the mini-game to harvest the wood with the saw. To succeed in the minigame, hit the button when the indicator points to the colored spot of the tool. Hitting the green zone yields more resources compared to the yellow zone.

Note that there's no need to equip the Saw, because all tools are automatically equipped to you. After you craft the Saw, you'll immediately be able to harvest woods from any wood resource node.

If you prefer not playing the mini-game every time you harvest, you can turn on the Auto Harvest feature in the settings menu. Although this feature makes harvesting easier and impossible to fail, it also takes longer and gives you less resources per node.

You can harvest all wood types using the Saw I tool. However, you'll harvest faster and get more rewards when you use upgraded saws.

You can unlock the blueprints to these better saws by reaching higher Infamy ranks.

After you reach a required Infamy Rank, check your mailbox, open the mail you received for reaching that Infamy, then open the chest included to get the blueprint. You can now upgrade your Saw through the Carpenter.
