Players that will be going through the game without taking on any Side Contracts or Investigations should expect to spend at least 25 gameplay hours to complete the main story.

Endgame and Seasonal Content
Manufacturers Capture manufacturers and make them work for you to increase your control over the seas.
Hostile Takeover Attack an outpost with a production chain and take them for yourselves. This is an open-world event, and other players will race against you.
Legendary Heists Plunder a Merchant Ship and deliver the cargo to the designated port. Other players can participate in this event, and you can steal the cargo they stole and they can do the same to you.
Pieces of 8 Plunder Merchants across the seas to passively earn pieces of 8. These are valuable currencies used to buy rare and deadly black market items.
Sea Monsters Track a sea monster and deliver its pieces to complete bounties.
Pirate Lords Pirate Lords will appear for each season in Skull and Bones. Pirate Lords have special attack mechanics, and beating one will be an extreme challenge.

Endgame and Seasonal content of Skull and Bones features various challenges you can take on to further upgrade your ships. These activities can get very difficult as this involves powerful AI ships and other players seeking out your loot.

XP and Infamy

Skull and Bones - Walking Through the Port

On top of XP, players will also receive Infamy upon completing a Main Contract. Infamy acts as the game's leveling system as this increases your Rank in the game and also determines what contracts you can take on as well as what ships or weapons you can build.

Main Contracts can also reward players with Resources and Loot, providing various items that can be useful as you progress through the game.

Progressing through Main Contracts also unlock different elements of the game such as getting your first ship, upgrades to weapons and vessels. There are also the different areas in the game that only become available after exploring an area or through certain contracts.
