How to Harvest Wood and All Wood List

Note: You don't need to go down to your ship to gather materials. If a prompt doesn't appear as you get closer, it may mean that another player has already gathered the materials.

Acquire a Saw Tool

To start harvesting Wood, you must first craft yourself a tool that will enable you to do so. Visit the Carpenter to craft yourself a Saw, which is the primary gathering tool for gathering wood.

As you progress further in the game, you'll be looking to upgrade your saw in order to be able to harvest rarer woods.

Travel to Gathering Spots

If the material you're aiming for is tied to an active Contract, simply open the map, and you should see certain gathering spots that are marked. However, do keep in mind that these are not the only places you can harvest said materials, as they are abundant in the open world.

Interact with the Resource Node

Once you've arrived at your desired gathering spot, you simply need to maneuver your ship close to the area, and a harvest prompt should appear. Interacting with this will allow you to play a mini-game wherein you need to tap on a gauge with precise timing to get resources. It is important to note that you don't need to go down to your ship to start gathering.

If a prompt doesn't appear after being close to the resource node, it simply means that it has been gathered by another player and is set to respawn after some time. It's best to look for another resource node instead of waiting for the resources to refresh.

Turn on Auto Harvest

In the settings menu, you can choose to turn on Auto Harvest, which will allow you to harvest resources without playing the mini-game. Although this is easier, you'll harvest longer and get fewer resources per node.

Refined Woods are higher-quality wood materials that allow you to craft better items and ship parts. These Refined materials can be crafted using a number of related Raw Materials through the Refinery.
