Upgrade to Spyglass III

Skull and Bones - Scanning Objects 1500m

The Spyglass III will allow you to scan objects from far away. Use the Spyglass during your voyage at sea, and press the Zoom In button to adjust the lenses of your spyglass up to two times!

The default zoom will allow you to scan objects up to about 490 meters, the 1st zoom level is about 950m, while the last zoom level scans the farthest up to about 1500m!

You'll get a mail for reaching the Marauder infamy rank that contains a chest. Go to the nearest pirate den and go to the mailbox, claim the contents of the letter for reaching Marauder infamy rank, then open the chest from the letter to receive the blueprint.

Spyglass View

Scanning ships and capitals will allow you to see the resistances of the ship's armor, what loot they're carrying, from which faction they belong to, their ship rank, and how much infamy you'll receive after defeating them.

In addition, you can also scan resource nodes to see which resource they produce.

Scanning objects that are 1400 meters or more away from you will earn you the bronze trophy, There You Are! for successfully achieving this feat.
