Character Creation Guide

Available After the Shipwreck

Skull and Bones - Character Customization
You can create your character after the tutorial in Skull and Bones which will lead to a shipwreck. After a small cutscene you will be able to change your character's apperance through a preset of genders and appearances.

You Cannot Name Your Character

As of the Open Beta, you cannot name your character. Your name will be the same one as you put on your Ubisoft Account name.

Can You Change Appearance After Creation?

Change Appearance and Buy Cosmetics in the Vanity Atelier

Skull and Bones - Vanity Custom
You can change your character's appearance and buy cosmetics in the Vanity Atelier found in islands where you can dock. The cosmetics available range from a variety of clothing items to emotes.

Should You Play Male or Female?

Gender Does not Matter

Choosing to play a specific gender does not offer specfic gameplay benefits. Feel free to choose and play whichever tickles your fancy!
