How to Get Off Ship and Go On Land |

You can get off your ship and go on land only in a few select locations. Most of the interactions in open sea, such as combat, are done while riding your ship.
You can only disembark in areas related to the main campaign or populated areas, such as Pirate Dens. Even though you can explore the seas in your ship, you cannot fully explore most islands on foot.
You only need to park your ship close to the resource you're trying to get in order to harvest them. A Harvest Resource button prompt should appear when you're close enough to harvest the resource.
If the button prompt doesn't appear, it's likely that another person already harvested the resource before you.
All combat in this game is limited to naval combat. When disembarked on land, you won't be able to attack at all.
Even when trying to attack a land settlement, you'll be using your ship weapons to attack instead of disembarking with your crew.
Is There Land Combat or Sword Fighting?
These are all the types of locations that you can disembark on. You'll see a Disembark prompt when you approach these places.

Pirate Dens are major hubs with all kinds of services like vendors, the Blacksmith, Refinery, and more.
You'll be returning to these dens often, mainly to Sainte-Anne, which is the first Pirate Den players you can visit in the game. In Sainte-Anne, you'll build your first ship and learn about all the different vendors and services to make your ship stronger.
Outposts are safe areas that can be disembarked on as well; they are similar to the Pirate Dens as they will usually have vendors to trade with, but with different other points of interest.
The first outpost you'll visit is the West Island, which is where you'll need to find a way to repair your Dhow in order to reach Sainte-Anne.
All Fast Travel Point Locations
Some shipwrecks can be disembarked on, allowing you to salvage items from the inside. This does not apply to all shipwrecks you encounter; the salvageable shipwrecks usually involve much larger ships.
They can be identified from the map, and will have the Force Open prompt when approached, needing you to play the minigame to be able to disembark.
An example of this is the Exeter Shipwreck at the start of the game, which involves a mission that needs to be completed to progress the story.
