Restart the Game
The “Death Mark Expired” notification seems to be a bug in the Skull and Bones Open Beta. Just like with other errors, you can try restarting your game to get rid of the infuriating burst of notifications. This usually fixes common errors in the game.
Hopefully, Ubisoft Singapore can fix this bug before Skull and Bones officially releases on February 16.
Press the Space Bar Repeatedly
Other PC players have discovered that pressing the Space Bar repeatedly gets rid of the persistent notification. You can try to get rid of the bug by doing this if you're on PC.
Unfortunately, we still haven't discovered if there's a similar method that can be done on the PS5 and Xbox.
Talk to a Quest Giver in the Game
Finally, you can try talking to a quest giver in the game to get rid of the persistent and infuriating notification.
We still haven't confirmed this ourselves but it might also work on NPCs in the game. We will update this page once we have confirmed that this method works.
Death Mark Explained
Notifies Players That The Helm Isn't After Them Anymore
The “Death Mark” notification in the game is a warning that tells players that they're being hunted down by “The Helm”. However, we still don't know a lot about the group called “The Helm”.
Our team suspects it's just another term for the Privateers in the game since they're the ones attacking the players on sight.
If you're still a low-level pirate and your ship isn't well-equipped yet, we do not recommend engaging with the high-level Privateers in the game to avoid death and loss of resources.
