Hostile Takeovers is a legendary heist PvP World Event where you compete with other players in securing a Manufactory that will generate Pieces of Eight passively as part of your growing Pirate Empire.
Although classified as a PvP event, you can't attack or sink other players. Instead, it's a competition on who deals the most damage on the Manufactory outpost. The player who deals the most damage will secure that manufactory and will start generating pieces of eight.
Hostile Takeovers is a race on who deals the most damage on the Manufactory, with the player dealing and maintaining the highest damage during the event winning and securing the outpost for their pirate empire.
This makes the Bombardier Padewakang the best DPS ship for the World Event since its ship perks help you deal as much explosive damage to the Manufactory's structures with your weapons.
How to Get Bombardier Padewakang
Location | Weapon Type |
---|---|
Bow (Front) | Dardanelles Gun (Enhanced Bombard) |
Broadsides | Basilisk III (Enhanced Culverin) |
Stern (Back) | Dardanelles Gun (Enhanced Bombard) |
Auxiliary | The Termites III (Enhanced Rocket) |
The Bombardier Padewakang is the strongest ship for Hostile Takeovers thanks to its 70% chance to trigger an explosion with its weapons. The Dardanelles Gun are installed on both the Bow and Stern for easier aiming and is best used against tower settlements.
Basilisk III are installed on the broadsides so that the Padewakang has a way to damage NPC ships that will attempt to fend you off. You can also use these to snipe weak points on the Manufactory.
The Termites III are installed on your ship's auxiliary since these rockets boast increased damage to towers, and also has a higher angle of aiming to make it easier to target these structures.
Hostile Takeovers become available once you reach Kingpin Infamy Rank. Once you reach this rank, you will receive a message from Yanita Nara in Sainte-Anne and will need to compete a short tutorial in The Helm that introduces Hostile Takeovers.
