How to Take Gengar 1 Star Photo

Gengar with Clefairy

To take the best 1 Star photo of Gengar, you need to find the Gengar standing in front of the Clefairy as you descend the large chasm in Research Level 3 of the Cave. While you are still a good distance away from them, toss an Illumin Orb at the Gengar to prevent it from teleporting away. Once you are close enough to the Pokemon, take a photo of the Gengar.

How to Take Gengar 2 Star Photo

Hit Gengar with Fluffruit

You can take a 2 Star photo of Gengar in the same spot as its 1 Star photo. However, you first need to hit Gengar with a Fluffruit before taking the photo.

Gengar Peeking Out of Its Portal

Before you enter the second area of the Cave at Research Level 2 or higher, you can see a Gengar portal next to two Carbink. Toss an Illumina Orb a the portal to get Gengar to reveal itself. Take a photo of Gengar as it peeks through to get a 3 Star photo.

Gengar Scaring Carbink

You can take a 4 Star photo of Gengar at the same spot as its 3 Star photo. After you reveal Gengar by tossing an Illumina Orb at it. Toss another one at Gengar to get it to scare two Carbink beside the portal and take a photo.
