4 star method still not updated. You have to play the music after the Crystabloom, then hit it again and play again to get both Sobbs using water gun. Then take a pic of Venusaur reacting. Also, getting a shot of them both using water gun will get Sobble’s 4 star.
Three months ago someone posted a correction to the 4-star method (which DOES NOT WORK AT ALL as described on the page) and this article still has not been updated.
This is missing like three steps, so allow me; After lighting the Crystalbloom play music to get 1st Sobble to spray water. Once Venusaur is awake scan to get both Sobble to spray. (Stop here for 3*) Lastly, light the Crystalbloom again, Venusaur will then dive into the water for a 4* photo.
Okay I got it. Maybe it's another one of those random things like Graveler's 4* shot?
Yeah, playing the music is what made the difference for me as well...in getting the Sobbles to spray him at all. Still haven't been able to get the 4 star.
Sorry I meant 4 star. The sobbles will spay him, but he's happy. You light the crystabloom and play music and then Venusaur is mad instead of happy. Playing the music is what made the difference for me, that was not already listed in this guide
For the 4 star photo, you follow the steps for a 3 star, only you light the crystabloom and play music (not sure what order) and Venusaur will get mad instead of happy and jump in the water. Get a photo of him jumping in.

To get the three star you need to do the Staredown for Venasaur request and during the same expedition on the regular path go to the waterfall and you shall see Venasaur with sobble DONT do anything and they will spray him with water just span pictures while they spray him with water and when he is happy after
