How to Get All Stars for Clamperl

How to Take Clamperl 1 Star Photo

Caption Name On alert

Use Melody to get Clamperl to open up!

Just after the Octillery and Seviper on the main route of Beach (Night), you will encounter a Clamperl on top of a rock. Get it to open up by using the Melody player then simply snap a zoomed in photo of it to earn a 1 Star photo.

This Clamperl has a number of aspects that help it earn a good amount of points. It has a few Vivillon that fly behind it, which will appear in the photograph. The Clamperl is already facing in your direction. It's also already close to the NEO-ONE, which earns it a good amount of Size points when zoomed in.

Hit by a Fluffruit

To get Clamperl's 2 Star Photo, start Reef (Evening) at Research Level 1. Proceed through the course until you reach the rocky area with the two Clamperls and a Drifblim.

Zoom in as you approach the first Clamperl and throw a Fluffruit at it. Take a photo of Clamperl getting hit by the Fluffruit to get its 2 Star Diamond Photo.

It is recommended to use Burst Mode for this photo as you may sometimes receive a gold star photo during the evaluation. Be sure to also use Auto Select when submitting the photo to Professor Mirror.

Opening its Mouth

To get Clamperl's 3 Star Photo, you need to start Undersea at Research Level 3 and take the first alternate route.

Once you reach the seabed, look for the second Clamperl buried in the sand. Wait for the Neo-One to get ahead of it and start throwing Fluffruits at the nearby Lumineon to lead it to the Clamperl.

If done correctly, the Lumineon will dig up the Clamperl, which sends it swimming away towards your direction.

Wait for the Clamperl to settle down and throw an Illumina Orb at it to open its mouth. Take a photo of Clamperl opening its mouth to get its 3 Star Diamond Photo.

Attacked by a Mareanie

To get Clamperl's 4 Star Photo, start Reef (Evening) at Research Level 1. Proceed through the course until you reach the rocky area with the two Clamperls and the Drifblim near the end of the course.

Throw a lot of Fluffruits at the rocky area in between the two Clamperls until a Mareanie appears. Take a photo of the Mareanie attacking the Clamperl to get its 4 Star Diamond Photo.

3-star diamond is literally impossible to get, I've tried so many times, yet I repeatedly got bronzes because of the size. Any other places available to get the clampert photo?

Yeah, I'm convinced it's impossible to get a diamond 2 star via this method. I've tried repeatedly and the game refuses to give me higher than roughly 3,500. There's no way to get any closer or score extra points with other Pokémon around, so how exactly was the one posted here a 4 star diamond? I know you can get it in the sea, but the stupid fish refuse to acknowledge my fruit and if they do, it's always too late. Ugh!
