Version 2.0.0 Free Update Patch Notes
On November 16, 2021, the Nintendo Support Website announced the release of the Version 1.0.3 update for Metroid Dread, which contains a fix regarding Samus not taking damage.
Update Patch Notes |
---|
✱ Fixed an issue where Samus' damage detection would disappear under certain conditions. We made the decision to fix this issue because there is a possibility that it may occur unintentionally, and if it does, it will result in a play experience that is far different from the way Metroid Dread was originally intended to be experienced. |
On November 3, 2021, the Nintendo Support Website announced the release of the Version 1.0.2 update for Metroid Dread, which contains more fixes to improve the overall gameplay.
Update Patch Notes |
---|
✱ Fixed an issue where retrying after a game over would cause the play time to be added only when retrying a specific boss fight. ✱ Fixed an issue where the game would force-quit if you hit an enemy frozen by an Ice Missile with the Shine Spark in a certain way. ✱ Fixed an issue that caused Samus to move strangely when jumping at certain times in the Morph Ball Launcher. ✱ Fixed an issue where the final boss would get stuck on a wall and not be able to move during a certain attack, making it impossible to progress in the game. ✱ Fixed an issue where Samus would get stuck in the wall when defeating the E.M.M.I. in Ferenia in a certain position. |
After dealing enough damage to Raven Beak while he's in midair, a cinematic scene will show his wing being blasted off by Samus which brings the battle back on the ground.
Once you gain control of Samus again however, Raven Beak will continue to float around despite having no wings which prevents the battle to progress. The recent patch fixed this and should make the final boss battle progress without interruption.
On October 20, 2021, the Nintendo Support Website announced the release of the Version 1.0.1 update for Metroid Dread, which has fixed a major game-breaking bug near the end of the game and also fixed several other issues that affect gameplay.
Update Patch Notes |
---|
✱ Fixed an issue where, if a map marker is placed on a specific door on the map screen (the door destroyed with the beam obtained at the end of the game), destroying that door at the end of the game would cause the game to forcefully quit with the message "The software was closed because an error occurred”. ✱ Fixed several other issues to improve overall gameplay experience. |
Version 1.0.1 of Metroid Dread has fixed the game-breaking bug near the end of the game.
When the player places a map marker on a door and destroys it, the game forcibly closes, and an error message appears on the screen. Players should now be able place map markers on the door without any further issues.
With the Metroid Dread game selected on the Home Screen, press the + button on your Switch to view the game data.
Select Software Update from the left tab. You can update your game Via the Internet or you can Match Version with Local Users.
Depending on Nintendo's server maintenance status, you may not be able to update your game. You can check their official website for more information.
If your update still would not push through, check if your Switch is connected to the internet.
You can check your internet status by going to the System Settings from the Home screen, and selecting Internet on the left tab.
If the problem persists, you can try restarting your Switch or your router.
You can check if your software is up to date after pressing the + button on the Metroid Dread application while on the Home Screen. It will be under the Metroid Dread title on the top left corner.
