Network Stations are essentially a way for Samus to communicate with Adam. In the game, Adam will give you gameplay tips and information on what's going on with the story when you use the Network Station for the first time. These aren't necessarily mission objectives or a direction of where to go next, so feel free to keep exploring and finding your own way!
Adam will often provide different information per Network Station that is found for the first time. Players can review these conversations with Adam in the Mission Log.
Just like Save Stations and Map Stations, you can use Network Stations to save your current progress. Use this as a savepoint just before you enter a hard section of the map to reload your save file if you're planning on cutting time by retrying or trying to get something down perfectly.
