This is a guide on pre-loading Metroid Dread on the Nintendo Switch. You can pre-load Metroid Dread by downloading it in advance and following the steps in the guide. Read on for tips on how to pre-load and the pre-load requirements for Metroid Dread!
Metroid Dread can be downloaded in advance before its release date. The full amount of the purchase will be deducted from your Nintendo eShop balance once you place your order.

If you pre-load Metroid Dread, you will be able to play the game on its release date from 12:00 AM on October 8, 2021.
If you want to be the first on your block to get into the game, pre-loading is the way to go!
Step 1 | Select the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch home page. |

Step 2 | Find Metroid Dread by searching via the search bar, or by going to the "Coming Soon" section. |
Step 3 | Select Metroid Dread. |
Step 4 | Select Proceed to Pre-order. (Download will start after confirming the purchase) |
The Coming Soon tab is sorted by the date of the game's release. Once you have preloaded Metroid Dread, you can start playing from 12:00AM on October 8, 2021 in your region. For U.S. players, this will be 12:00AM EST and 9:00PM PST.
Step 1 | Select the Nintendo eShop on your Nintendo Switch homepage. |

Step 2 | Select Enter Code from the choices on the left side of the screen. |
Step 3 | Enter the code from your Download Card. (The game will start downloading after entering the card details and confirming) |
You can also pre-load the game using a Download Card. Once you have entered the code from the card, the game will start downloading on your Nintendo Switch.
When purchasing the digital version of the game, a large amount of space might be needed for you to be able to download it. If you have other game data, consider purchasing an external microSD card or try organizing your storage.
The storage requirement of Metroid Dread is 4.1 GB. If your Nintendo Switch's built-in 32GB of space is full, you may need to delete other game data or use an external microSD card.
Make sure your Nintendo Switch has enough memory space available for the game before pre-loading.
