This is a guide on the Wide Beam, a Beam upgrade in Metroid Dread for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn about how to unlock the Wide Beam Upgrade, how to use the Wide Beam against enemies and obstacles, and where to go after getting the Wide Beam upgrade.

The Wide Beam is located in the central area of Dairon.
| 1 | ![]() Enter the passage in the left side of the map that leads to a dark area and continue till you reached the next room. |

| 2 | ![]() After traversing the barely visible room and defeating enemies along the way, shoot the ground to create an opening and slide through the hidden narrow passage to the left. |
| 3 | ![]() You'll arrive in the generator room. Activate the generator to brighten up the area. |
| 4 | ![]() Jump to the upper-right corner and open the Power Beam Door. |
| 5 | ![]() After dodging and defeating the enemies, continue towards the right and open the Missile Door. |
| 6 | ![]() Destroy the item sphere and grab the upgrade. |


Certain doors can only be opened when hit by a Wide Beam. Doors that can be opened with the Wide Beam has an outer covering with three points. Once this covering is destroyed, they revert back to a regular Power Beam Door.

With the Wide Beam, Samus can inflict thrice as much damage to enemies compared to her Power Beam if all three beams hit the target.

After getting the Wide Beam, you will now need to go back to Cataris and beat the Green EMMI to get the Morph Ball upgrade.
