How to Unlock the Varia Suit | Where to Go After Getting

Steps to Unlock the Varia Suit Upgrade

The Varia Suit can be located in the northwestern area of the map.

1	Exit using the Left EMMI Zone Door. After defeating the Green EMMI and gaining the Morph Ball upgade, exit the EMMI Zone to the left (marked above).
2	Drop down the narrow passages. Use the Morph Ball to roll down the narrow passage.
3	Enter the narrow path in the alien dinosaur-like skull statue. Use the Morph Ball to enter the narrow passage and drop down.
4	Shoot to reveal hidden passage. When you reached the bottom, shoot the platform above the sealed door to reveal a hidden passage. Proceed to the next area.
5	Use the Red Teleportal. Climb up the narrow path to reach the red teleportal to Artaria. Use it to teleport back to Artaria.
6	Activate the thermal device. Exit the teleportal and follow the map (marked above) to the thermal device. Once you arrived, activate the thermal device.
7	Escape the lava. Follow the path going up to escape the rising lava. Be sure to shoot any obstruction to escape quickly and safely.
8	Reach the Missile Door. After successfully escaping the lava, shoot the platform above you to reach the Missile Door. Shoot it with a Missile and proceed to the next area.
9	Obtain the Suit Upgrade. Climb up to reach the Chozo Statue. Shoot the item sphere on its hand and obtain the upgrade.

How to Use the Varia Suit

Explore High Temperature Rooms

While wearing the Varia Suit, Samus can explore high temperatures typically found in Cataris. Without the suit, Samus will slowly take damage from the extreme heat.

Where to Go After Varia Suit

After obtaining the Varia Suit, you will be forced to go back through the Red Teleportal to Cataris. Once there, head left through the hot rooms and follow the path down to fight Kraid. In a room shortly after this boss fight, you will obtain the Diffusion Beam.
