Steps to Unlock the Wave Beam Upgrade

Metroid Dread - Wave Beam (Central Unit)
Find and destroy the Central Unit.
Locate the Central Unit in Ferenia and defeat it to gain the Omega Cannon.

Metroid Dread - Wave Beam (Purple EMMI)
Defeat the Purple EMMI
Exit the Central Unit Room to engage the Purple EMMI in battle. Melt its protective coating using the Omega Stream. Once it's exposed, aim the Omega Blaster to its head to destroy it.

Metroid Dread - Wave Beam (Obtain Wave Beam)
Receive the Upgrade.
After defeating the Purple EMMI, you will automatically gain the upgrade.

How to Use the Wave Beam

Press Y to Use the Wave Beam

Similar to a regular Power Beam, press the Y button.png button to fire.

Attack Through Solid Walls and Terrains

Metroid Dread - Wave Beam (Attacking Through Walls)
Wave Beam allows Samus to shoot energy wave that can pass through solid walls and terrain.

Destroy Wave Beam Covers

Metroid Dread - Wave Beam (Opening Wave Beam Door)
Wave Beam Covers can only be destroyed using the Wave Beam Upgrade. After destroying them, they revert back to regular Power Beam Door.

Where to Go After Wave Beam

After you obtain the Wave Beam in Ferenia, take the elevator back up to Hanubia. You can now open he Wave Beam Cover Doors to proceed to the Red EMMI scene and the Red Chozo Soldier boss fight in the lower section of Hanubia. Defeat this boss to obtain the Power Bomb upgrade.
