This guide will cover game length and how long it takes to complete Metroid Dread for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn how many hours you can expect to play in order to beat the main story, as well as play time required for extras and 100% completion!
List of Contents
For most players, the initial playthrough for Metroid Dread could take an average of 7-9 hours to complete the main storyline. The game length is pretty standard when compared to the other 2D Metroid games. Feel free to enjoy the campaign at this pace. If you ever get stuck, feel free to check out our Story Walkthrough.
Despite the seemingly short story run through, completionists will have to scour the map for all the Missile Tanks, Energy Tanks, and Power Bomb Tanks. It may take an additional 4-5 hours of play time to get 100% completion on the save file.
On the other end of the spectrum, speedrunners will be happy to know that beating the game as quickly as possible is rewarded. Beating the game in under 4 hours is necessary to unlock the different ending rewards for Metroid Dread.
