Once you obtain the Speed Booster upgrade, you also unlock the Shinespark upgrade. The two abilities are obtained simultaneously from the Yellow EMMI.
1 | Find and destroy the Central Unit. Locate the Central Unit in Dairon and defeat it to gain the Omega Cannon. |
---|---|
2 |
Defeat the Yellow EMMI Exit the Central Unit Room to engage the Yellow EMMI in battle. Melt its protective coating using the Omega Stream. Once it's exposed, aim the Omega Blaster to its head to destroy it. |
3 | Receive the Upgrade. After defeating the Yellow EMMI, you will automatically gain the Speed Booster upgrade with the Shinespark feature. |
You can do this before getting the Bomb upgrade if you have the Grapple Beam, but this way will require performing a different Pseudo Wave Beam shot through a wall below to drain the water.
1 | Make your way to this marked location on your map. You can access this area after you drained the water. |
---|---|
2 | Break the Alien Block by charging your Beam Weapon. This will be a pseudo Wave Beam shot in the sense that it will destroy the Alien block thanks to the small AoE hitbox your Beam Weapon will create when it hits the wall. This one is particularly tricky to aim for, but it is manageable. |
3 | Take the Shuttle to fight the Central Unit and then the EMMI. Taking the shuttle will bring you to the lower section of Dairon. Here, you can make your way up to the Central Unit's location to get the Omega cannon and defeat the Yellow EMMI! |
You will notice that you can activate your Shinespark while free falling in the air. However, thi is usually impossible if you manually jump since you will be doing a Spin Boost motion.
When you use your Shinespark against a ramp or slope, your Speed Booster will immediately activate at its max speed. This will let you store another Shinespark almost immediately.
With this in mind, you will be able to access hard-to-reach areas and even make some of the Shinespark Puzzles easier!
Though Samus can use Speed Booster to destroy obstacles directly in her path, she will need to use her Shinespark ability to break down a series of obstacles above her.
Certain upgrades and items are unreachable until you obtain the Speed Booster and Shinespark upgrades.
