Using the Charge Beam against enemies delivers more damage than the standard Power Beam. However, charging the beam makes your attacks significantly slower, so it is only effective as an initial attack or with slower enemies.
Charge Beam Doors can only be opened when hit with a Charge Beam. They appear similar to Power Beam Doors, but are not initially lit, so they look darker in color.
