The Diffusion Beam is located at the southwestern area of Cataris.
1 | Climb using the Spider Magnet. After defeating Kraid, use the Spider Magnet behind Samus and continue climbing till you reach the narrow passage. |

2 | Use the Morph Ball. Enter the narrow passage and traverse till you reach the wider area. |
3 | Destroy the Barricade with a Missile. Drop down till you see a Missile Door. Open it up and enter the door. |
4 | Obtain the Upgrade. Destroy the item sphere holding the diffusion beam to obtain the upgrade. |
Diffusion Beam can penetrate through terrain. Use this to defeat enemies through walls or barriers with little to no risk.
You can now destroy the exploding organic obstacles through walls with the Diffusion Beam to access new areas.
Head back to Dairon through the Purple Teleportal. Go through the EMMI Zone and use the Diffusion Beam to clear any walls that block your way. Continue to the upper left section of Dairon to find the Bomb upgrade.
