Steps to Unlock the Hyper Beam Upgrade

1	Defeat Raven Beak. You need to defeat Raven Beak before triggering the cutscene to Samus' transformation.
2	Gain the upgrade. After defeating Raven Beak, a cutscene should play out where he tries to kill you but fails due to Samus' Metroid awakening. This allowed her to absorb Raven Beak's energy which gave her the Hyper Beam upgrade along with the Metroid Suit.

How to Use the Hyper Beam

Press the Y Button to fire

To use Hyper Beam, simply press the button and clear your way! Hold it down for a continuous stream.

Defeat the Raven Beak X

After crashing the ship, a weakened Raven Beak attempts to confont Samus again, but a purple X-Parasite suddenly appears and absorbs him. This causes Raven Beak to transform into Raven Beak X. Fire your newly acquired Hyper Beam to blast this giant creature away.

Destroy All Enemies and Obstacles

Hyper Beam is powerful enough to disintegrate almost every enemy and obstacle that is obstructing your escape. Use it to clear a path for a quick getaway! Unfortunately, this final part in the game is the only time you can use this beam.
