Can You Get a Game Over? | What Happens When You Die?

Welcome to Game8's Marvel's Avengers Walkthrough Wiki! Our writers are putting out new guides as quickly as possible! Have a look at any of the guides below to get started!

Version 1.08 Is here!

This is a guide to what happens when you die in the Marvel's Avengers game. Read on to find out whether it's possible to get a game over and what happens when your characters run out of willpower.

Can You Get A Game Over?

Not exactly. You do not get a hard game over that asks you to reset the level or locks it out completely, but you can die and get taken back to the nearest checkpoint. There are no hard stops for the game, whether or not you die or fail objectives the game will go on.

What Happens When You Die?

Hero Gets Downed

When playing solo or with friends, once your hero runs out of willpower, they get put in a downed state.

This will require allies to enter a marked radius around your character for a set period until your character gets up.

Spectate

If you cannot be rescued in time and are playing with others in a Respawn Restricted area, you will enter a spectator mode where you can watch your allies fight until they leave the area, then you can respawn.

Respawn

If you get downed and are not revived in a normal area, you can simply respawn.

Restart at Checkpoint

If you're playing solo and you get downed twice, or if you're playing in Campaign mode and miss certain jumps, you will restart in the nearest checkpoint. The game will remember it however, and count it towards your stars if you were defeated doing an objective.
