Do Not Exclude Wright for the First Case

After gathering all the evidence at the crime scene as Hanu, the first case requires you to identify the murderer by excluding the innocent ones. Follow the steps below to solve the first case.

Exclude Lefton

Exclude Lefton since he cannot be the murderer due to his dominant hand being injured. With this, submit the item called Evidence: Giant Wooden Hammer since he would not be able to lift it.

Exclude Zhongshan

Zhongshan should also be excluded since he would not make it too far inside the Goldhammer Residence's facial recognition system due to his disfigured face. So, choose the item called Evidence: Goldhammer Residence Security Regulations.

Interact With the Constable

After excluding the innocent ones, talk to the Constable to tell them that Wright is the murderer. The first mystery ends after this interaction.

Do Not Identify the Murderer for the Second Case

In the second case, your choices do not matter. However, choosing not to identify the Murderer will allow you to solve this case much faster. When the game prompts you to submit a piece of evidence, choose whichever you want!

Sparkle is the Correct Answer for the Trashcan's Riddle

For the traschan's riddle during the third case, none of the dialogue choices are correct. The Trashcan itself will say that Sparkle is the correct answer. So you are forced to fight it no matter what option you choose!

Detailed Puzzle Walkthrough

	Dream Ticker Puzzle Solution
1	Click one of the yellow blocks for them to connect.
2	Move the mirror until Clockie walks to the first gear.
3	Rotate the blue block until it connects to the block that has the second gear.
4	Move the yellow blocks to connect one to the blue block. Doing this will allow Clockie to get the last gear.

Go to Dr. Edward's Location

After responding to Dr. Edward's message, use the Space Anchor called Oti Mall in F2 of Golden Hour and then talk to Dr. Edward to progress Masquerade Duet.

Enter Black Swan's Dream Bubble

When your conversation with Dr. Edward ends, you will be prompted to go inside Black Swan's Dream Bubble. We recommended bringing characters with the same element to easily deal with the Lordly Trashcan.

Black Swan is a Trial Character for the mission.

Since you are forced to use Black Swan, the best team to use for the Exploratory Excursion is a mono-Wind team since it will be effective against the Lordly Trashcan. If you are using a team that only consists of free units, then you cannot run a mono-Wind team.

Talk to the Bloodhound Family Member

Once inside Black Swan's dreamscape, It starts off with Black Swan investigating a murder scene. Together with Sampo, you'll have to ask the Bloodhound Family about what went down at the crime scene.

Talk to Constable and Bailiff

Since you cannot ask the person who got murdered in the Dreamscape, you are forced to play Sparkle's game. Talk with the Constable and the Bailiff to learn more about the crime and the suspects in the murder.

Gather Evidence at the Crime Scene

Gather all the evidence that Sparkle left for you all over the crime scene. You will also have to morph into Hanu to get through the vent and collect more evidence to reach a conclusion on who the murderer is. Collecting them is easy since they are already marked in-game!

Solve the Dream Jigsaw Puzzle

A piece of evidence for the crime scene requires you to solve a Dream Jigsaw Puzzle. You need to put 8 puzzle pieces to the correct tiles to solve it!

Solve the First Case

The last thing to do to solve the first case is to determine the suspect that did the murder. You will have to exclude two NPCs out of the three options to progress Masquerade Duet.

Head to the Second Crime Scene

Once the first case has been solved, follow the waypoint in-game to head to the next crime scene orchestrated by Sparkle!

Investigate and Gather All Evidence

Talk to the Sheriff and Deputy Sheriff to learn more about the murder that has happened in the area. The Deputy Sheriff will share information about the murder, but none of these will matter later on. So, taking note of the details is not needed!

Morph Into Hanu Again

Much like before, Black Swan will have to enter through the vent by morphing into Hanu. Once inside the vent, collect all evidence that is marked in-game.

Solve the Dream Ticker Puzzle

One of the pieces of evidence inside the room will be locked behind a Dream Ticker Puzzle you need to solve. It requires you to collect 2 gears.

Solve the Second Case

For the second case, you will be asked to identify the killer and present some evidence. Alternatively, you can opt to not identify the murderer.

Head to the Third Crime Scene

For the third crime scene, you will encounter the Detective and Assistant Detective. But for this case, Black Swan will cut to the chase and head straight to where Sparkle is hiding.

Hurry to Sparkle's Hiding Spot

Follow the waypoint provided to locate where Sparkle is hiding in the Golden Hour. When you arrive in the area, you will see a suspicious-looking trashcan near the Clockie Statue.

Solve the Trashcan's Riddle

Interact with the suspicious trash can, and you'll quickly find out that it was a Lordy Trashcan all along. This trashcan will ask you a riddle you must solve — "What creature has four legs in the morning, two legs in the afternoon, and three legs at night?"

Defeat the Lordly Trashcan

After answering the Lordly Trashcan's riddle, you get to fight it. A Lordly Trashcan initially does not have a weakness, instead, you will have to attack it using a character to implant a weakness.

To defeat it, you simply need to break its toughness meter. Once defeated, you will find out what Sparkle was up to and the reason behind her antics!

Talk to Dr. Edward

Once you finish viewing Black Swan's Dream Bubble, you will exit out of it and back to the Golden Hour. Talk to Dr. Edward again to initiate a cutscene between Sampo and Sparkle.

Reply to the Messages

Finally, you will get a message claiming to be Black Swan. It turns out that you are being deceived again by Sparkle. Reply to her messages to finish the Masquerade Duet. After that, you will get another message from the real Black Swan!

Usually, clearing Companion Missions allows characters to become visitors aboard the Astral Express. For Masquerade Duet, Black Swan, and Sparkle do not become a visitor on the Astral Express!
