This is an article for the best talents to use for both PVE and PVP in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. Learn which talents are best for early, mid, and late game as well as a strategy on how to use them properly in battles!

Investing in the Helm Splitter skill will not only help players in the early game but also as far as the end game. It provides defense shred against opponents, so it's a very valuable skill at any point in the game.

The ability to get Midheal in the early stages coupled with other support skills is why we recommend monsters with these talents. Aiming for these talents early game can make a more comfortable run.

Aquapothecary is one of the best early game talents which not only gives users water elemental skills but also heals monsters. Towards the end of the game though, combining monsters with Healer and Paramedic results in getting a Supreme Healer so try to invest in those two as well!

The above Virtuoso Talents are the upgraded version of the Afficionado talents in the early game. This makes sure that your investments in those monsters carry over into the mid-game properly.
We especially recommend Bang and Crack Virtuoso as monsters with these talents can learn the extremely powerful Kaboomle and Kacrackle skills. These skills are powerful enough to deal with spiders and boss battles in the mid-game.

The upgraded version of the Breath talents from the early game continues to dominate even in the mid-game! We recommend going for Frosty Receptionist and Smart Blazer for general damage.
Users should also go for Deep Breather as it unlocks the Sandy Sigh skill that deals damage and reduces the accuracy of opponents. It is a pretty powerful skill that can be used until the final boss battle.

Gladiator will be your go-to Physical talent from here until the post-game. We especially recommend Killing Machine as the primary monster to aim for that has this talent. This monster is capable of carrying your run until the post-game.

Once you reach the endgame, stat-increasing talents become essential. This makes sure you deal enough damage, tank more hits, and are speedy enough to effectively win fights. Make sure to also upgrade these talents when able.

In the mid-game, recovery skills, and support skills become extremely important. Players should aim for monsters with Cure-All which is an overall great recovery spell. Skills like Omniheal that heals the entire party and Zing that revives an ally become very important skills to have.
We also recommend using Leading Light, as it can also provide damaging skills like Kabuff and Oomphle.

The recommended talents for physical attacks towards the end of the game are Wrecker, Multidisciplinarian, and Warmonger. Among these three, focus on getting Wrecker as it greatly increases your attack power!

Storm Chaser is the recommended talent for the final stages of the game. Aside from learning recovery spells like Multiheal and Insulatle, monsters with this talent can also learn general attack skills like C-C-Cold Breath and Kaswooshle. This high level of versatility makes it a go-to endgame talent worthy of investment. The only downside is that monsters with this talent are all only obtainable through synthesis and not out in the wild.

Devil's Advocate allows you to learn special skills that provide various status debuffs on enemies. During the midgame, Sandy Sigh is the best debuffing skill to learn which provides both damage and accuracy reduction against enemies. For the endgame, the skill Withering Look and Hellish Howl are great when faced against Metal enemies!

Magic is the name of the game in the end, so try to maintain a high level of MP during the latter stages of the game. Sage is particularly great considering it has access to buffing and debuffing skills like Kaping and Oomphle. Also, it's good to remember that Sage monsters also have access to the Deceleratle skill!

The recommended end game talents are Supreme Healer and Mystic as both talents have access to decent skills like Omniheal and Zing. Strong Speller could be a close second, as it can also use Zing and is easy to get.

Warding skills that can resist various debuffing effects thrown at you by enemies are important in PVP. The main drawback of this is that most of the good warding talents are obtained from hatching eggs.

When playing against other players, it is important to take talents that provide debuffing skills for enemies. Most of these talents provide up to 4 of the debuffing types in the game plus provide paralysis and sleep resistance which are very good when playing PVP.
