The Dragon Quest x McDonald's promotional event is a limited event where players can acquire special fast food-themed monsters by ordering McDonald's.
While the event was announced exclusively for Japan, there are still ways for players overseas to avail themselves of these limited-time monsters by ordering through the McDonald's Japan app.!
This special event ran from December 1, 2023 - January 12, 2024.
Head to the Google Play Store or the App Store and download the official McDonald's Japan application.
Using this application does imply the need to register an account.
Users who don't already have accounts can quickly create one by linking their social media accounts such as Facebook.
Select a location in Japan where you can have your McDonald's delivered where someone will be there to receive your order.
A receiving person is required as the codes will not be distributed to unsuccessfully delivered orders.
Phone a family member, friend, or make some friends online and let them know you're ready to buy them som food!
Once you've selected your delivery address, click on the Dragon Quest promo banner which is immediately visible on the Featured tab of the app.
Select the items that you'd like to purchase and proceed with your delivery.
After having completed your delivery, check back in on the McDonald's Japanese app on your phone and head to the Home screen.
An image of the DQMxMcDonald's promo should pop up near the bottom. Clicking on it will reveal your monster code.
Users have reported needing to wait several hours before the image showed up, so be sure to check back in if it doesn't appear at first.
Once logged into the Nintendo website, head to the Account Settings and click on Edit on the upper-corner to edit the region that your account is set in.
Access the eShop from any Nintendo Profile that has its region set to Japan and select the bottom option from the left-hand side.
This should be the “Redeem Code” option. Remember that you will need to do this a total of three times as each code is only good for one promotional monster.
The McChallenge Tournaments can be accessed by speaking to the lady at the counter in Endor.
Winning these tournaments should subsequently unlock each monster for Psaro's party!
Note that players who have already completed the A Rank Cup will encounter the “getting ready for S Rank Cup” and will be unable to access the tournament UI until they complete the game and unlock the S Rank Cup.
The McDonald's Promotional Campaign for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will start from December, 2023 until January 12, 2024. Although, you can redeem the codes you obtained on the eShop until January 31, 2024.
Note that these dates are in the JST Timezone.
The promotional will also only give up to 100 Million Monsters during the campaign. Therefore, you can only obtain an exclusive Monster as long as 100 Million have not yet been claimed.
McDonald's Collaboration Monsters can only be obtained by placing a delivery order on the McDonald's Japanese App. This means you will not receive a code for the monster if you make a purchase in-store or make a delivery on any other platform.
First Order | Second Order | Third Order |
---|---|---|
Triple Splatty | Flurry Fiend | Mimic With Cheese |
Players can obtain three types of monsters from the McDonald's Promotional Campaign, specifically ''Triple Splatty,'' ''Flurry Fiend,'' and ''Mimic with Cheese.'' You will only get one monster per delivery order, which means you need to do at least three separate delivery orders to get them all.
In addition to the exclusive Monsters, you can also receive original wallpapers with your delivery order. Similarly, the wallpaper can only be obtained during the promo period.
After getting the Monster, you can re-obtain them as an egg or from Mog Dungeon. This lets you use the monsters repeatedly for synthesis.
