Recommended Level | EXP Gained |

Level 20 ~50 | 1 Metal Slime: Approx 5,000 to 15000 |
When you reach the middle echelon levels in the midgame, metal monsters will start appearing in the areas at a low probability.
To level up fast in the midgame, you'll want to be hunting down Metal Slimes and its variations, like the Liquid Metal Slime.
Explore the map with a monster with a strong AOE attack to clear all the regular enemies quickly. The EXP you'll gain will increase as you progress through the map.
Time Required per Lap | Maximum EXP gained |

5 Minutes | 1 Metal King Slime: Approx. 4.8 Million |
The best way to level up after clearing the game is to defeat the Metal King Slimes in the Upper Echelon levels. You can defeat one in 7 to 10 minutes each time, getting around a whopping 4.8 Million experience points for each slime you defeat!

★What to Do When Metal Slimes Do Not Appear |

After Defeating One, You Must Move to Another Area for it to Respawn Significantly Increased Appearance Rate after Defeating the Hidden Boss Turn Off Auto-Save and Save in Front of Them
|
After defeating one, you must Fast Travel (Zoom) before another one will appear. Repeat this process when farming Metal Slimes.
After completing the main story, the fourth secret boss you encounter will unlock an increased rate of Metal Slime apperance after it is defeated. For this reason, it's best to complete game first before farming Metal King Slimes.
After defeating the secret boss, you'll unlock the Maulosseum S Rank, which will reward you with an item which grants 1.5x Exp. Points. Before farming Metal Slimes for experience, it's best to obtain this item.
When you find a Metal Slime on the map, instead of rushing into battle, be sure to save first. Be sure to also turn auto-save off, as otherwise the game will automatically save after the battle. This will allow you to reload the game if the Metal Slime runs away from the battle.
If the Metal Slime runs away, press the HOME button and end the game, then restart it and load your save data from before the battle.
Defeating metal enemies is a bit difficult, as they will have high defense and will flee quickly, so here are some tips to defeating them.
How to Defeat Metal Slimes |
---|
Early Game (Metal Slimes)
┣Use Metal Slash and Metal Stone for Guaranteed Damage ┗Aim for a Critical Hit with Hatchet Man Mid-Game (Liquid Metal Slimes) ┗Use the Ultra Crafty Traits to lower their defenses Endgame (Metal King Slimes) ┣Use Monsters with the Metal Beater trait and Mercurial Thrust skill ┗Use a team with Liquid Metal Slime's Kaboomle |
In the early game, you'll want to use the Metal Slash Skill and the Metal Stone Item to farm Metal Slimes. Metal Slash will always deal damage to Metal Slimes, while Metal Stone will always deal 2-3 damage.
The Skills Multifists and Sword Dance are also good for this.
In the midgame, you'll want to use Skills like Ultra Crafty Banger, and other Ultra Crafty skills which increase the damage of elemental magic. For the first time in the series, Metal Enemies can be damaged by elemental attacks instead of being immune to them, but now you can lower their defenses to a specific element and attack them with it to deal damage.

When fighting Metal Slimes in the endgame, Monstes with the Metal Beater Trait and Mercurial Thrust Skill are the best choice. Metal Beater allows you to deal heavy damage to Metal Slimes, while Mercurial Thrust will allow you to always attack first, meaning that unless you get a surprise attack from a Metal Slime, you'll always be able to move first and defeat any Metal Slime.
Monsters with a high enough Attack stat can one-shot any Metal Slime even with a physical or standard attack. You're best off using a Monster with high Attack and Speed and a physical skill when farming using this method.

After completing the game, use Agility Booster 4 and Agility Booster 3 to get a Liquid Metal Slime and tech it Kaboomle, allowing it to always move first. A fast Liquid Metal Slime is easy to make by mixing Metal Slimes and Metal King Slimes multiple times.
Once you've made this fast Liquid Metal Slime, instead of equipping it with an accessory to increase its speed, equip it with the Training Medallion to increase its Exp. Point gain by 1.5 times.
Monster | Appearance |

Metal King Slime | Upper Echelon Maps ▶︎Appears much more frequently after defeating the secret boss |
At some points, you'll need to use seasonal gimmicks to progress through the environment. In particular, many areas are only accessible in Winter when the water is frozen. After completing the game, you'll obtain the Seasonal Flute, which you can use to change the season; otherwise, the consumable Seasonal Powder will allow you to advance the season by one.

I have to disagree with some things. 1st, metal king slime is not 4.8 million a piece, unless you're using a single monster. 2nd, getting any monster with a high wisdom and either withering look, kaboomle, or black breath will almost instantly unalive the whole thing. Using Joe's gym dlc, dungeons ranked 4 stars and up typically spawn metal king slime after floor 6 and is spawned randomly if you leave the room and return.
