The most important point in selecting scouting monsters is choosing one possessing a high Stat value in either Attack or Wisdom. When scouting, the percentage is determined by the higher value between your monster's Attack or Wisdom. The higher the stat, the higher the scouting success rate will be.
Learning support spells like Oomph for monsters with high Attack stats, and Ping for monsters with high Wisdom, greatly increases the value of those respective stats, further increasing the scouting success rate. It is therefore recommended that you organize monsters that can have the aforementioned buffs applied to them before scouting.
Spell | Effect | Talents Including |
---|---|---|
Oomphle MP Cost: 10 |
Increase the Attack of all allies for 2-5 turns. | Fortifier Sage Fluffy |
Oomph MP Cost: 6 |
Significantly increase the Attack of one ally for 2-5 turns. | Fortifier Willing Helper Good Knight |
Ping MP Cost: 3 |
Significantly increase the Wisdom of one ally for 4-7 turns. | Fortifier Willing Helper Sizz Afficionado |
Kaping MP Cost: 4 |
Increase the Wisdom of all allies for 4-7 turns. | Smarty-Pants Sage Fluffy |
Spells like Dim and Sap that lower wisdom and defence respectively can make for much easier monster scouting. Combining this tactic with buffing your own monsters' stats will significantly increase the success rate of scouting!
Spell | Effect | Talents Including |
---|---|---|
Sap MP Cost: 3 |
Greatly decreases the defence of a single enemy for 4-7 turns. | Zam Afficionado Dark Artist Thrill-Seeker |
Kasap MP Cost: 4 |
Decreases the defence of all enemies for 4 to 7 turns. | Zam Virtuoso Enfeebler Evil Genius |
Dim MP Cost: 3 |
Greatly decreases the wisdom of a single enemy for 4 to 7 turns. | Choreographer Dark Artist Toxicologist |
Kadim MP Cost: 4 |
Decreases the wisdom of all enemies for 4 to 7 turns. | Enfeebler Antimagician Blighter |
It is also important to pay attention to traits like Insta-Ping and Insta-Oomph. These two traits in particular allow you to increase your Attack and Wisdom stats at the beginning of battle making them very valuable traits to consider.
Trait | Effect |
---|---|
Insta-Ping | Occasionally uses Ping on itself at the start of battle. |
Insta-Oomph | Occasionally uses Oomph on itself at the start of battle. |
Strong Starter | Damage dealt to enemies increases until the 3rd round and decreases from the 4th round onward. |
Skills/Traits | Monsters and Effect |
---|---|
War Cry |
Effect: Make all enemies unable to move for 1 turn. |
Hellish Howl |
Effect: Deal damage to all enemies, occasionally immobilizing them for 1 turn. The damage increases with the level of the monster ally used. |
Strangely Alluring |
Effect: Occasionally prevents enemies from taking action for one turn during battle. |
Intimidating |
Effect: Occasionally prevents enemies from taking action for one turn during battle. |
Ultra Crafty Stunner |
Effect: Attacks that induce stun become significantly more effective. |
A good tip would be to also have your monsters learn skills such as “War Cry” and “Hellish Howl” as these skills can stop your enemies in their tracks for one turn. Having the ability to limit your enemy's movements can turn the tide of battle in almost any circumstance.
