This is a complete list of Monsters in Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince. See all 526 Monsters and how to get and synthesize them here.
Monsters may have special synthesis (S-synth) conditions that could require specific monsters as parents.

Your primary method of gathering monsters will be through scouting. While lowering a monster's health is one way to increase your odds of success, progressing the story and climbing the ranks of the colosseum greatly increase your chances of scouting a monster.
Very rarely, a wild monster from a group you defeated will ask to join your party. Players can choose whether or not to let them join, and if the party is full they will be sent to the depository.

Throughout the game, you will spend as much time synthesizing monsters as much as you do scouting and fighting. Synthesis provides an avenue for players to power up their team beyond what they can normally scout.
Synthesis Guide and Calculator
While N-synth or Normal Synthesis asks players to fuse two monsters of a certain rank and family, S-Synth or Special Synthesis requires players to fuse two specific monsters in order to get the desired monster.
Another form of S-synth is the 4-way synthesis, in which the outcome of the fusion is entirely dependent on the grandparents of the desired monster.
