There are currently three DLC released for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (DQM3). Read on to learn which DLC we recommend purchasing, the DLC list and the price and contents for each, and how to claim your purchased DLC.
DLC | Recommended Level |
---|---|
The Mole Hole | Recommended Level: ★★★★★ ・Feature that allows you to scout monsters that you've already befriended before ・Makes synthesis easier by giving you better access to monsters ・If you're aiming to get all monsters, this DLC is very recommended |
Treasure Trunks | Recommended Level: ★★★☆☆ ・Features a mystical chest that you can open once an hour, obtaining an item from a selection ・Many items will help you in progressing through the story or training monsters ・You can get these items in the game without this DLC |
Coach Joe's Dungeon Gym | Recommended Level: ★☆☆☆☆ ・Randomly generated map that changes each time you enter ・Replayable feature for players who don't play PvP |
If you're interested in buying a DLC, we recommend to prioritize buying the Mole Hole DLC. In this DLC, monsters that you have befriended at least once before will appear again.
These monsters include extremely rare monsters, synthesis-only monsters, and egg-only monsters. You no longer have to repeat the difficulty of re-acquiring those monsters for synthesizing X-Rank and S-Rank monsters; you can just easily get them again instead in the Mole Hole.
Synthesis Guide and Calculator
The Treasure Trunks is a mystical chest that gives you an item from a pool of items, which you can claim once per hour.
Two of the items that you can get are the Bonus Ball (increases EXP and gold gained by 1.5x) and Bumper Bonus Ball (doubles EXP and gold gained), which when used make leveling monsters up faster.
Keep in mind that this feature makes the game easier, so only buy the DLC if you don't mind losing some of the challenge in playing through the story.
How to Level Up Fast
Items | |
---|---|
1 | Meaty Treat x5 |
2 | Super Seed of Life x3 |
3 | Sage's Elixir x5 |
4 | Bonus Ball x3 |
5 | Bumper Bonus Ball x1 |
6 | Super Seed of Skill x3 |
7 | Metal Slimecard x1 |
8 | Seasoning x51 |
9 | Beastie Bites x3 |
10 | Super Seed of Magic x |
You'll receive the items from the chest in the order above, once per hour. After you receive the tenth item in the table, the next one you get will go back to the first item, repeating the cycle.
If you don't like to play online PvP battles or just want to try something else for replayability, consider purchasing the Coach Joe's Dungeon Gym DLC. This is one of the few game activities that you can play after completing the game and defeating the secret bosses.
In this feature, you challenge difficult, randomly generated dungeons, with restrictions such as not being able to use items and being restricted to using certain monster types.
Note that any rewards obtained from this DLC can also be obtained from monster drops or the shops, so you won't be missing out on any exclusives (aside from the included costume) if you chose not to buy this DLC.
Post-Game Content: How to Get 100% Clear

If you're interested in all three DLCs before starting the game, we recommend buying this edition which costs $85.99 instead of buying the DLCs separately. For reference, the base game costs $59.99.

---|---|---|
Cake-Maker's Clobber | Monstrous Mail | Gothic Vestment |
These are the costumes included for each DLC. All of them are DLC exclusive and can't be normally obtained by playing the base game.
Once you get through the story until you clear your very first G-rank arena, you'll receive the message of the DLCs being unlocked.
The location for all DLC features are in the Paddock in Terrestria. You'll find them just near or inside the shed in the Paddock.
