What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill has a Unity effect, denies foe's follow-up attack, grants a follow-up attack, damage reduction, and post-combat healing. |
Might: 16 Range: 1 At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X to unit during combat (X = current penalty on each of those stats × 2, + 4; example: if unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+18, for a net bonus of Atk+11 during combat; calculates each stat bonus independently), and the following effects will occur based on unit's HP at start of combat: if unit's HP ≥ 50%, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack; if unit's HP ≥ 75%, deals +7 damage during combat as well (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials). |
Range: 1 Moves adjacent ally to opposite side of unit. |
Grants Def +5. Inflicts Atk -3. |
At start of turn, if unit is not adjacent to an ally, grants Spd/Def +6 to unit for 1 turn. |
Stat | Superboon/Superbane | IV Recommendation |
---|---|---|
HP (19) | ★★★☆☆ | |
Atk (22) | ★★★★☆ | |
Spd (9) | ★★★★★ | |
Def (6) | ★★★★☆ | |
Res (5) | ★★☆☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Ferdinand's best IVs are +Spd and -Res. With a +Spd IV, Ferdinand will have to endure less follow-up attacks from foes, and be better at fighting in the front lines of battle. While HP would be the ideal bane, it is a superbane that will cause the stat to drop by 4, so we recommend -Res instead.
If you are building a +10 merged Ferdinand, we recommend a +Spd IV. With a +Spd IV and 10 merges, Ferdinand's Spd will reach 42, allowing to score a lot of follow-up attacks of his own. If you would prefer to use him as a tank for physical attacks, +Def is a good option as well.

This build uses Atk/Def Unity to stack with refined Stoutheart Lance and create large Atk/Def stat swings. Atk/Def Menace also creates an Atk/Def Swing and activates Atk/Def Catch.

This is a budget build for Ferdinand with minimal Skill Inheritance. Renewal gives him sustain, while stacking Close Def improves his bulk against melee foes. Refined Stoutheart Lance will be mostly responsible for Ferdinand's survival.
Exclusive Weapon Effect from Refining (Special Effect Type) | |
---|---|
SP: 400 | |
Might: 16 Range: 1 HP: 3 At start of combat, if unit's HP ≥ 25%, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X to unit during combat (X = current penalty on each of those stats × 2, + 4; example: if unit has -7 penalty to Atk, grants Atk+18, for a net bonus of Atk+11 during combat; calculates each stat bonus independently), and the following effects will occur based on unit's HP at start of combat: if unit's HP ≥ 50%, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack; if unit's HP ≥ 75%, deals +7 damage during combat as well (except when dealing damage with area-of-effect Specials). If unit initiates combat or is within 2 spaces of an ally, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4 to unit, reduces damage from foe's first attack by 40%, and foe cannot make a follow-up attack during combat, and also, restores 7 HP to unit after combat. :500 :200 |
|
The special effect refine of Ferdinand's new weapon, Stoutheart Lance, boosts his tanking capabilities, granting him Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4, 40% damage reduction on the first attacks, and follow-up negation. He can also restore 7 HP to himself every after combat.
Ferdinand only needs to have allies within two spaces or initiate combat to receive these buffs!

Ferdinand is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Ferdinand's new weapon Stoutheart Lance has a built-in Unity effect, granting bonus stats equal to 4 plus twice the current stat penalties applied to Ferdinand.
Additionally, Stoutheart Lance grants Ferdinand a guaranteed follow-up attack and bonus damage per attack.
When refined, Stoutheart Lance grants an extra Atk/Spd/Def/Res+4, 40% damage reduction on his foe's first attack, denies his foe's follow-up attack, and restores 7 HP after combat.
This refined weapon makes Ferdinand deceptively bulky through raw stats in-combat, damage reduction, and follow-up denial, making Ferdinand a good unit to use defensively.
Ferdinand takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon can deal massive damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
