What Kind of Character Are They? | ・Weapon skill boosts Atk/Def and deals bonus damage equal to penalties on foe ・Applies Atk/Def penalties at a distance with Atk/Def Snag |
Might: 14 Range: 1 At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 75% or 【Penalty】is active on foe, grants Atk/Def+5 to unit during combat and unit's first attack during combat deals damage = total Atk/Def penalties on foe. 【Penalty】 All effects that last "on foe through its next action." Includes penalties inflicted by a skill like Panic or Threaten and negative status effects (preventing counterattacks, restricting movement, or the effects of a skill like Triangle Adept or Guard). |
Range: 1 Moves adjacent ally to opposite side of unit. |
If unit is adjacent to an ally, grants Atk/Def+5 during combat. |
If a movement Assist skill (like Reposition, Shove, Pivot etc.) is used by unit or targets unit, inflicts Atk/Def-6 on nearest foes within 4 spaces of both unit and target through their next actions. |

Res (8) | ★★★☆☆ |
◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Tempest Trials, Spring Luthier will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
Spring Luthier's best IVs are +Atk/-HP. Atk is a superboon and leads to the best combat potential for Luthier.
His other stats are all average, thus taking HP as a bane is the best option because it can be patched up easily through Legendary and Mythic blessing bonuses.
We recommend +Atk when merging Spring Luthier to +10. All of his stats are average, thus Atk is the boon of choice due to its importance and superboon status.

This is a budget build using Spring Luthier's base kit. Stacking Bond skills works well when remaining adjacent to allies, which can be done by using Reposition. This also activates Atk/Def Snag to turn on his weapon!

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Spring Luthier is a melee physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Spring Luthier comes with a new inheritable lance in Carrot-Tip Spear+.
It grants Atk/Def+5 to Spring Luthier and deals bonus damage equal to the total penalties on his foe's Atk and Def.
These penalties can be applied by skills such as Atk/Def Snag 3, which Luthier also has on his kit!
Spring Luthier suffers from having average stats without any one stat standing out.
This makes him a generalized unit and not a specialized one, which harms his combat potential when fielded against specialized units.
Spring Luthier suffers from the lack of unique options exclusive to him, and as a result, is comparable and even replaceable by other lance cavalry units.
Lance cavalry is a saturated unit type with a lot of viable options. There are other more powerful options for this unit type; notably Brave Eirika who was potentially obtained for free with Choose Your Legends 5.
Spring Luther will have to rely on differences in base stats and availability to stand out among his peers.
Should You Unlock Potential for this Hero? |
---|
We recommend that you use Unlock Potential to bring Luthier - Spring Hopes from 4 Stars to 5 Stars. Luthier - Spring Hopes is very useful as a all around lance cavalry, so you may find using Unlock Potential on Luthier - Spring Hopes helpful if your team lacks a party member with this role.

Spring Luthier provides Carrot-Tip Spear+, Atk/Def Bond 3, and Atk/Def Snag 3 as inheritance options.
Carrot-Tip Spear+ is a good weapon, but isn't essential as there are other viable lance options available elsewhere.
Atk/Def Snag 3 isn't common in usage, and Atk/Def Bond 3 at 5-star rarity is not good for inheritance.
Spring Luthier is a limited time Hero who can be obtained as a reward for your score in the Tempest Trials. They do not appear in regular summons. After the event has ended, they can be obtained by using Heroic Grails.
